Everyone loves Doritos and I was actually looking forward to try these hot cheesy corn chips, especially after I fell in love with Snyders Jalapeño Pretzel Pieces. My regular followers will know that I’m not a fan of hit, spicy foods. The Jalapeño Pretzel Pieces did not affect me much at all considering how hot they smelled and tasted. So I was expecting a similar experience with these Doritos.

The bag was open and I could smell the hot cheese a mile off. Doritos have that smell that seems to waft everywhere. My husband went in first to see how hot they were as he loves hot food whereas I’m cautious. He took his first few Doritos and his eyes were glazing over. Then he went in for some water and said to me ”I think these will be too hot for you, they even feel hot for me.” Who was he kidding? You can’t say something like that to me and not expect me to give them a go. (Maybe that was his plan come to think of it…) So I said let me try. I didn’t go in for a whole Dorito. I just snapped off a little corner and popped it in my mouth. I’m so glad I did! Blimey they were hot! I did get the tangy cheese flavour, but that soon disappeared with heat that was growing and growing. They made me hiccup! That’s when I know something is too hot or too spicy for me. If I hiccup… then it’s too much.

Wowzers! They were bloody hot! I won’t have these again. I value my tastebuds too much. I think these Doritos are suited to those who can manage a Vindaloo! Phew!!
