Every year she has more and more flowers and I really like where it is heading :) This year, if I remember correctly, there was 7 buds that were slowly opening so I could enjoy the flowers a little longer. Even though it would be nice to see them al bloom together.
Rebutia Fabrisii var. Aureiflora
It is a very small, clumping cactus native to Argentina. The body is light green and is covered in dense, short spines - a good protection from the sun. They are quite soft though and it is quite nice to touch.
Flowers are quite big comparing to the cactus itself, though smaller than the ones I have been showing recently. They are maybe 2 cm across and last a few days.
I tried to palliate it this year, but I don't see any fruits forming. I am not sure what other cactus would be a good candidate to cross it with to get something new, so I just took a little brush and wiggled around all the flowers from different cacti that were in bloom. Some of them might produce seeds. And then it will be one big surprise to see what I created.
And now a little recap:
2020:
It got own, bigger pot and started to grow faster and producing more offshoots.
2019:
When it was still growing in a shared pot with other cuttings. It was the first one to bloom.
