Kids say bye to Daniel and his mom in New Jersey. They drive to California. You see 1980s cars. Unique music from that era. Dress and clothes from that era. Fun feel to how they talk and act. Daniel LaRusso has just moved from New Jersey to Reseda, CA (a neighborhood in Los Angeles) and is finding it hard to acclimatise to life in the new city. He is promised a swimming pool and a beautiful house, but when they get there, it's anything but nice. He meets a beautiful blond girl, but encounters a gang of bullies who make his life a living hell. This further dampens Daniel's spirit as he just wants to go home. He is continually bullied and is afraid to show his face around the high school. He then meets mentor/handyman Mr. Miyagi who takes the naive Daniel under his wing and shows him that Karate and life aren't all about power and strength. It's something deep within you're soul that makes you what you are. Daniel is the underdog and faces the biggest challenge of his life. WIN and he can rejoice forever knowing he beat the bullies. It continues right after the tournament at the end of the first movie. He tries to punch Miyagi twice but gets both hands bloody. 6 months later. Ally fell in love with someone else, a football player. Bad experience at Prom. Car problem. Return to basic core to life when you are out of focus, breathing. Nailing with a hammer. Refugee. Fresno. Miyagi has a sick father. Miyagi said, "Never put passion before principle. Even if win, you lose." Daniel said this too in season 4 of Cobra Kai. Well, the first part he said. Dan wanted to go. Fight to death mentioned. Cut log? Miyagi replied, "Don't know, never been attacked by tree." Chosen meets him at airport. Beef. Fight. Uncle or something. Village near military base. They get there. Dan meets the Japanese girl who we see again in Cobra Kai many years later. Father of Miyagi said according to the girl who translates, "If I am dreaming, let me never awake. If I am awake, let me never sleep." 400 years of Miyagi family history, pictures, paintings, of fathers, grandpas, great grandpas, and so on and so forth, ancestors. Lots of fishing. Dried out or something. All gone perhaps. Farming. Small village. TV on wagon. 3 days to mourn. He to return. Dan talked about saying goodbye to his dad at death. Chosen cheating at the market buying, selling. He was using hidden disks, weights, or something. Miyagi said to her he should have taken her with him. Instead, he married another woman. Castle. Museum. She wants to be a dancer. Rekindled love. Dan on a bet breaks 6 slices of ice. Cut wood, no. Elvis music at dance. Not dating. Chosen tries to take the money, so they run off in car. Miyagi could stay or she could come to America. Love ritual. Kiss. Storm. Run. Warning bell. He cuts big board to save uncle. End in castle remains. The ending is even better than the ending of the first movie. This second movie is better. The first movie is good for introducing the series. The end credit music, doing it for the glory of love, is awesome. The end fight had the village make a noise with these with things with their hands. That told Dan what to do to win. In the end, he did not kill Chosen and forgave him. Awesome ending had me in tears. I recommend these movies and the Cobra Kai series to people.
