Share Our World: Nesika Beach, Oregon

In December I visited my family in Oregon. After Christmas we went to the Oregon Coast for a few days. We rented a beach house a short walk from Nesika Beach.

Rocks

The Oregon Coast is a different beach than the ones I grew up with in San Diego. The most noticeable difference are the rocks in the water.

It is low tide in this picture.

View from the rocks.

Chilly

The Oregon Beach is the type of beach you take walks along and play on the shore. It is cold and even colder in December.

Here you can see we are all bundled up.

Rainbow

We got a rainbow one of the mornings.

The plants on the beach are interesting!

Ice plant

Lots of ice plant

Not sure the names of these plants.

Bull Kelp

One of my favorites is Bull Kelp

Here you can see @jarvie likes it too. He is using it for a whip.

Sea Foam

There was a good amount of sea foam on the beach one of the mornings.

Drift Wood

There is a lot of drift wood on Oregon Beaches and Scotty started an art installation which we helped him finish and I named 25 pieces of wood, Christmas 2022.

We had a great time at Nesika Beach which was just a few houses down and across the road from our Airbnb.
