Share Our World: Redwood Forest- Simpson Reed Grove Trail

Hello Hive Friends. Happy New Year!

I am excited to share with you this walk on the Simpson Reed Trail in the Redwood Forest in California for my first #wednesdaywalk of 2023.

For the Christmas holidays I went to Oregon to see my family and we spent a couple of days on the Oregon Coast. On the way to the coast we stopped at the Redwood Forest. I am so glad we did. It is INCREDIBLE!

I live in Arizona and all the green was really spectacular!

We went on the Simpson Reed Trail which is .93 miles (1.49 km) which was perfect to wander around.

Here are a few pictures to give you a feeling of how large these trees are! According to one of the plaques on the trail,

Some coast redwoods can be 360 feet tall (109.7 meters).

Ferns

There were so many ferns all over the forest floor.

It was magnificent!

Mushrooms

It was fun seeing these mostly cute fungi on our walk. The one with black on it was as hard as a rock.

Moss

These trees are covered in moss and are super beautiful.

Banana Slug

Oh and I can't forget this fascinating creature- banana slug!

A few more pictures. It was such a great 1.5 hours walking through this magical forest.
