The 1st of June is tomorrow, which means its almost time to finish shooting my music video for ELAMENTAL FORCES - a song that will be going on my upcoming Power of Truth album. In the song, I mention all the element of this realm (Fire, Wind, Water, & Earth - among other aspects like soul, inspiration, & vitality). In the video, the idea is to capture all the elements as visual representations as the corresponding terms are said throughout the song.
So far we have been able to illuminate the element of Earth by having three separate shots throughout last year's grow season of a backyard cannabis grow (among many other aspects of nature really). The other element we have already illuminated in high res camera work is Water - in glorious fashion while visiting Abiqua Falls near Salem, Oregon (I can't believe I haven't posted photos from that shoot yet - will do that tomorrow - preview shot below with @hempress).
So that leaves two main elements - Fire & Wind. Wind is the one that has proved to be trouble - ironic since I am a vocalist in which wind is mainly used. At first I tried to find an old dutch-style windmill between Eugene and Portland, which there were none to be found (and I looked HARD). There is one is Woodburn at the tulip farm, but it is not always out and it has been difficult to coordinate with them. Outside of going all the way up to the gorge for the bigger modern power-producing windmills, there seems to only be one alternative - the coast, where there is plenty of wind. How to represent wind visually at this mountainous rocky beach is another question, and I am still open to suggestions if you want to leave some in the comments below.
Fire will be much easier (as it should be for a fire sun-sign), and will also be recorded at the coast at my friend's place who has a property there. These shots will be filmed at night, as such you will not see much of the land, but instead intense flames from a bonfire and talented fire-spinners performing in the dark around it. Let's just say, this sh--'s gonna be lit!
I was hoping to capture some footage during last year's intense forest fires, but my bro that is filming the video had completely understandable health and (obviously) safety concerns which prevented that from happening. Probably for the best, everything is happening as it should, in it's own time.
We also may have to go back to Abiqua Falls (or another waterfall) to get some drone shots of the drone falling down the falls (per one of my lines in the song "...then descend the waterfall, transcend and defend the cascades, making waves with the splash...").
