Riptide Operation - Week 6: Rumble In The Jungle [Let's Play Games #11]

The new week just began and that means it's time for another set of missions completed in the Operation Riptide of CS:GO during the Rumble In The Jungle which represents Week 6 since everything began.

What I really love about these sets of missions that are released every week, is the diversity of the tasks jumping from very boring to unique ones that can't be met in a different situation other than during the operation, and the thing that you have the possibility to enjoy achieving new goals both by playing on your own or with a team.

Personally, I enjoy equally playing games both multiplayer and on my own, and I guess that really depends on my mood.

However, the Week 6: Rumble In The Jungle brought us just two missions where you need a teammate to complete them, while the other two can be completed quite easily if you play alone, but best is to see what everything is about and how to earn the 10x stars available as rewards:

  1. Wingman - Nuke: where you have to win an entire match playing 2 vs 2 on Nuke map or collect 21 rounds won in separate matches [★★★]
  2. Guardian - Blacksite - Hooded Crane: being needed to kill 20 bots with riffle weapons [★★]
  3. Deathmatch - Group Sigma - Red-bellied Piranha: where you are required to get three killstreaks of 3, 5 and 7 kills without dying [★★★]
  4. Casual - Group Delta - Yellow-crowned Parrot: you have to get 7 kills with an enemy's weapon in a single match or 15 kills collected from more matches [★★]

Even though we have another week with the missions being pretty straightforward, I never played them in order and actually began with the Deathmatch and Casual ones because they do seem the most appropriate ones to warm up before things are getting more serious.

Actually, Deathmatch – Group Sigma – Red-bellied Piranha was basically the hardest one amongst the 4 missions available in the Week 6 because it's based on how big your killstreak is before you are being killed by an enemy. This includes:

  • a killstreak of 3 kills;
  • a killstreak of 5 kills;
  • a killstreak of 7 kills.

As fun as everything seems, the biggest challenge for me was the maps where I could play this mission because the Group Sigma includes Cobblestone, Vertigo, Canals, Ancient and Basalt, where none of these is usually played by me and of course my skills are way lower than they are on maps I would play at any hour.

I was actually needed to play 3 matches on 3 separate maps in order to get this one to an end. Which is a lot more time than what I would normally spend for this mission if it would be played on Dust II for example.

The next map I completed was the Casual mode where the name has nothing to do with what it's based on, but at least it brought a smile on my face thinking about how a Yellow Parrot would look if it was Crowned, lol. 🤣

Anyway, what's everything about, is to rack up 7 kills with an enemy's weapon in a single match, or a total of 15 kills with an enemy's gun collected from more matches. As a little secret, this works even if you find on the ground a weapon that was used by a teammate and not necessarily from the opposite team, so you can try and trade guns with your teammates at the beginning of the round for faster completion of the mission.

You can also try to bait the enemies to push your position while you can stay hidden and wait for them to come over. We both know what happens to those guys.

For the 3rd and 4th missions I needed my boyfriend to join the game and make a team together, beginning with the Guardian one which is very similar to the one from the Week 3: Surf’s Up where we had to play with the same category of weapons, but where it was more advantageous for us to use the weapons with a scope.

For this time, you get to use the big guns, not being able to play with a single weapon, even if most likely everyone would be happier if it would play with either M4A4 or AWP.

You will need to score 20 kills with different riffles throughout the match and there is going to be an indicator on the left side of the screen that will track your progress done so far and show you what weapon is time to be used.

And last but not least, the Wingman mission that is basically a 2 vs 2 Competitive match where the map with the whole fun is a throwback to the classic times, namely Nuke. Personally, I loved playing on this map on Counter-Strike 1.6 but on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive I have other maps that I enjoy more, and I also think that the mission was not the best thought out because I felt like those who are playing on the T side are a lot more advantaged from the opposite team.

The duel between the two teams is held on bombsite B where Terrorists have 3 ways of access to the site while the CT team only has one. This is a huge disadvantage for the CTs because the Terrorists will always know where the enemies are coming from, so we kind of had to play the mission a few times because we were always spawned to CT and we were losing too many rounds until the teams were switched and be able to do the comeback. You have to either win an entire match or 21 rounds collected from more matches.
