The sea and the mountains are beautiful for those who love vacations. But if both are united only by the beach and are immersed in a natural environment preserved and respected as such by the inhabitants and visitors themselves, then we are talking about Liguria in Italy.
This small fraction of territory (already Liguria is small in itself and has the highest idemographic concentration of Italy in the province of Genova and Savona) is located between the border with France and living from the South and towards the North after Tuscany.
To get an idea: if through a PC program we could extrapolate the buildings of the Ligurian cities built in the middle of the mountains and then try to put them back in place, it would be a very arduous task, like putting together a puzzle.
Between the sea and the mountains throughout all of Liguria there is no more than one km in its widest part. Let's imagine how much is in the narrowest part.
Endless galleries dug into the permanently illuminated mountains turn the landscape into a dizzying journey. We leave a gallery and the precipice opens up at our feet. Huge concrete pylons support a hanging highway that opens an incredible beauty to our eyes.
Mountains covered with dense vegetation in the distance and in the background like the mattress of a valley that suddenly begins to climb the mountains and appears before our eyes.
A gallery of endless colors, from green to brown, in all possible shades, in a kind of earthy and fantastic rainbow.
And suddenly the sea, sometimes far, sometimes very close. Sometimes at the same level of the sea in which we travel and sometimes we contemplate it from the top of a natural ledge that goes around the mountain like a corkscrew.
Its crystalline and deep waters are an invitation to rest in a natural environment and care for a unique naivety.
From north to south they have the largest number of beaches with the so-called Blu Flag (which identifies those beaches that respect the environment the most).
But especially to the north towards France it has the best expression of conservationism in a natural environment that protects them from winds and tides.
I spent many years of my life in Liguria and in the next post I will try to tell you and show you some of the most characteristic beauties of this true Italian natural jewel.
El mar y la montaña son hermosos para quien ama las vacaciones. Pero si ambos están unidos solo por la playa y se encuentran inmersos en un ambiente natural conservado y respetado como tal por los propios habitantes y visitadores, entonces estamos hablando de la Liguria en Italia.
Ese pequeña fracción de territorio (ya la Liguria es pequeña de por si y tiene la más alta concentracidemográfica de Italia en la provincia de Genova y Savona) se encuentra entre el confín con Francia y viviendo desde el Sur y hacia el Norte después de Toscana.
Para hacernos una idea: si a través de un programa para el PC pudiéramos extrapolar los edificios de las ciudades ligures construidos en medio de las montañas y después intentáramos volver a ponerlos en su lugar sería una tarea muy ardua, como armar un rompecabezas.
Entre el mar y la montaña a lo largo de toda la Liguria no hay más de un km en su parte más ancha. Imaginemos cuanto hay en la parte más angosta.
Interminables galerías excavadas en las montañas permanentemente iluminadas hacen que el paisaje se transforme en un viaje vertiginoso. Salimos de un galería y el precipicio se abre a nuestros pies. Enormes pilones de cemento soportan una autopista colgante que abre a nuestros ojos una belleza increíble. Montañas recubiertas de una densa vegetación a lo lejos y al fondo como el colchón de un valle que de repente comienza a subir por las montañas y aparece delante de nuestros ojos.
Una galería de colores interminables, del verde al marrón, en todas las tonalidades posibles, en un a especie de arcoiris terrenal y fantástico.
Y de repente el mar, a veces lejos, a veces muy cerca. A veces al mismo nivel del mar en el que viajamos y a veces lo contemplamos desde lo alto de una cornisa natural que da dando vueltas alrededor de la montaña como un tirabuzón.
Sus aguas cristalinas y profundas son una invitación al descanso en un ambiente natural y cuidado de una candidez única.
De norte a sur tienen la mayor cantidad de playas con la llamada Bandera Blu (que identifica a aquellas playas que más respetan el medio ambiente).
Pero especialmente al norte en dirección a Francia tiene la mejor expresión del conservacionismo en un ambiente natural que las protege de vientos y mareas.
Pasé muchos años de mi vida en Liguria y en los próximos post trataré de ir contándoles y mostrándoles algunas de las bellezas maás características de esta verdadera joya natural italiana.
