Back Home Drenched!

Hello everyone, trust I meet you all doing good?

It's currently the season for rain here in Nigeria, and it has rained in every part of the country in the last few days. Despite the heavy rainfall yesterday's morning, I still woke up to rain this morning. The rain already made me to begin contemplating on my plans for the day. I planned to visit my account manager on the Island, then visit my school on the Mainland, also visit a phone store at Computer village, before finally travelling back home to spend the weekend with my parents. Luckily for me my Uncle was heading my first direction which was the Island so I decided to set out with him. He drove me to my destination so I didn't feel the effect of the rain that much.

I was done at the bank and it was time to return back to the Mainland. Stepping out of the bank I discovered it was still raining, in fact the intensity of the downpour had increased. I steeped in back and waited a little for the rain to subdue. After waiting for about twenty (20) minutes, I discovered the doesn't seem to be completely stopping so I decided to just go into it because I was running out of time. I jogged in the rain to the nearest bus stop and waited about two minutes before I got a bus heading my destination, I was already feeling cold at this point. On arriving at the last bus stop where I would get the bus heading to my finally destination which is my school, the rain already increased again. I had to run with my full speed to the nearest pack where I would get a bust heading my destination. Fortunate enough, I was the third to the last passenger needed to fill up the space in the bus. After two minutes or thereabout the bus was filled and we were off in no time.

On arriving at Sabo at Yaba Lagos, which is about five (5) minutes drive to my school the driver discovered there was flood already ahead and had to take a different route. As we thread the alternate route we discovered it was blocked also due to improper coordination of the vehicles. We stood still for almost ten (10) minutes before some good Samaritans got out of the vehicles to help control the vehicles and freed the blockage. The driver then had to follow another route again then informed all the passengers in the bus that he wouldn't be able to get to Yabatech which is my school because of the flood so I decided to highlight at a bus stop where I would be able to get a motorbike to take me back home since I couldn't visit my school anymore. On arriving at the bus stop all the motorbikes refused to head my destination because of the flood and because it was still raining. I pleaded with few but none was willing to go, that how I had to walk, jog, and also run under the rain till I got home.

I got back home all soaked and dripping and also panting heavily. Right now I'm keeping myself warm indoor and I don't plan on stepping out anymore to accomplish the rest of my plans. All I want to do now is eat and sleep. Bye-bye!
