History of Ferrari 400 SuperAmerica
Successors to the 410 Superamerica (1955 to 1959), the Ferrari 400 SuperAmerica was produced between 1960 and 1964 with a design peend by Pininfarina for all the models (spider, cabriolet and coupé).
And with its name, Ferrari didn't follow the tradition for a road car, the type number wasn't denoting the swept volume of a single cylinder but the total cubic capacity of 4 litres. The model Coupe Aerodinamico for the 400 SuperAmerica was presented by Pininfarina on their stand during the Turin Salon in November 1960.
This example is LWB, Long Wheel Base (2,800 mm), produced in only 22 examples. A short version was done (SWB, 2,600mm) with only 17 units :

The 400 Superamerica was an exceptional car as the most expensive road-going Ferrari of its era. And it remains one of the most celebrated Ferrari ever built.
This example (chassis 4251 SA) was delivered in 1963 for the New York International Auto Show.
Specification
The Ferrari 400 SuperAmerica is equipped with 3,967 cc V12 engine mated with three Weber 46 DCF/3 carburettors producing 340 hp at 7,000 rpm for a top speed 265 kmh.
This example was completely restored in 2004. It finished in silver over a green leather interior. So beautiful...
