Welcome dear internet travelers and thank you for making a temporary stop in my post, we all know that horror movies are a roller coaster of emotions that if they are well done can remain in people's minds for a long time and even not let them sleep. but today we will not talk about that, today we will focus our attention on the other side of the coin focusing on 2 “Horror” movies that are simply horrible in many ways in a bad way, the movies in question are Bingo Hell and Side effect, having the first some peculiar protagonists and the second being a Russian production. Without more to add, get ready to point out all the elements that ruin a horror movie that we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos queridos viajeros de internet y gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, todos sabemos que las películas de terror son una montaña rusa de emociones que si son bien echas pueden quedar en la mente de las personas por mucho tiempo e incluso no dejarlas dormir pero hoy no hablaremos de eso, hoy centraremos nuestra atención en la otra cara de la moneda enfocándonos en 2 películas de “Terror” que simplemente son horribles de muchas maneras en el mal sentido, las películas en cuestión son Bingo Hell y Side effect, teniendo la primera unos protagonistas peculiares y la segunda ser una producción rusa. Sin más que agregar prepárense para apuntar todos los elementos que arruinan una película de terror que estamos por comenzar.
Let's start first with Bingo Hell, a film that was released this year, co-written by Shane McKenzie, Perry Blackshear and Gigi Saul Guerrero, it was directed by Gigi Saul Guerrero and the film is 1 hour and 25 minutes long. The plot revolves around a group of Oak Springs elders who hate all the changes that the community is having, so they only stay for a vague sense of belonging and their love of bingo but everything changed when the local bingo owner I sold the business to a strange person.
Empecemos primeramente con Bingo Hell, una película que fue estrenada este año, coescrita por Shane McKenzie, Perry Blackshear y Gigi Saul Guerrero, fue dirigida por Gigi Saul Guerrero y la cinta tiene una duración de 1 hora y 25 minutos. La trama gira en torno a un grupo de ancianos de Oak Springs que odian todos los cambios que está teniendo la comunidad, por lo que solo se quedan por un vago sentido de pertenencia y su afición al bingo pero todo cambiara cuando el dueño del bingo local le venda el negocio a una persona extraña.
For its part, Side effect is a Russian film released in 2020, written and directed by Aleksey Kazakov, with a duration of 1 hour and 33 minutes. The film revolves around an architect and his wife who lived a happy life until some thugs broke into their house, that fact caused their marriage to fall into a tailspin because he traumatized his wife so he tirelessly seeks a solution to make me forget the fact. His problems seem to have been solved when he meets Mara, a woman who has a medicine that could be the answer to her problems. What he does not know is that everything will go from bad to worse.
Por su parte Side effect es una película Rusa estrenada en 2020, escrita y dirigida por Aleksey Kazakov cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 33 minutos. La cinta gira entorno a un arquitecto y su esposa los cuales vivían una vida feliz hasta que unos matones irrumpieron en su casa, ese hecho hizo que su matrimonio cayera en picada debido a que traumó a su esposa por lo que busca sin descanso una solución para hacer que olvide el hecho. Sus problemas parecen haber sido solucionados cuando conoce a Mara una mujer que tiene una medicina que podría ser la respuesta a sus inconvenientes lo que no sabe es que todo irá de mal en peor.

In both films the characters are totally horrible and unknown, being that their names are barely provided but a personality or anything that characterizes them is never determined for which they are total strangers to the viewer, making everything done on the tape feel inconsequential as if it happened to a mannequin.
En ambas películas los personajes son totalmente horribles y desconocidos siendo que apenas son proporcionados sus nombres pero nunca se les determina una personalidad ni nada que los caracterice por los que son unos totales desconocidos para el espectador haciendo que todo hecho en la cinta se sienta intrascendente como si le sucediera a un maniquí.
In Bingo Hell the main characters are: Lupita the leader of the group, Dolores, Yolanda, Clarence and Morris, absolutely all of them are totally trivial, boring and anonymous to the public, none of them even have a defined personality, having the only peculiarity of being advanced protagonists age being quirky in horror movies.
En Bingo Hell los personajes principales son: Lupita la líder del grupo, Dolores, Yolanda, Clarence y Morris, absolutamente todos son totalmente triviales, aburridos y anónimos para el público, ninguno tiene siquiera una personalidad definida teniendo la única particularidad de ser protagonistas de avanzada edad siendo peculiar en las películas de terror.
Side effect does not do a good job in this section either since it makes the same mistake because its protagonists are also total strangers being that their names are hardly known: Andrey the architect who is desperate to return to his wife, Olya his singing wife and Mara the villain of whom it is never explained what the hell she is.
Side effect tampoco hace un buen trabajo en este apartado puesto que comete el mismo error debido a que sus protagonistas también son unos totales desconocidos siendo que a duras penas se conocen sus nombres: Andrey el arquitecto que se encuentra desesperado por volver con su esposa, Olya su esposa cantante y Mara la villana de la que nunca se explica que carajos es.
As in both films they make the same mistakes in some points I will speak in general so as not to repeat the information, for example in the soundtrack both tapes are horrible being the same non-existent and when it is present it simply does not agree with the scenes making any attempt of the movies for doing some scary scene will go down the drain. Usually I don't see the soundtrack as something of excessive importance but in a horror movie it is a fundamental element to which they must pay special attention if you do not want to have a fiasco like in these movies.
Como en ambas películas cometen los mismos errores en algunos puntos hablare en general para no repetir la información, por ejemplo en la banda sonora ambas cintas son horribles siendo la misma inexistente y cuando se hace presente simplemente no es acorde con las escenas haciendo que cualquier intento de las películas por hacer alguna escena de miedo se vaya por el desagüe. Usualmente la banda sonora no la veo como algo de excesiva importancia pero en una película de terror es un elemento fundamental al cual deben de ponerle especial atención si no se quiere tener un fiasco como en estás películas.
The context provided by Bingo Hell is simply null, all that is known is that Oak Springs is being renovated and no detail is given as to why or how of the events, making them simply unknown and boring because it is not known absolutely nothing at all, only a guy with money comes to cause chaos because yes.
El contexto que proporciona Bingo Hell es simplemente nulo, todo lo que se sabe es que Oak Springs está siendo renovado y ya, no se da algún detalle del por qué o como de los eventos haciéndolos sencillamente desconocidos y aburridos debido a que no se sabe absolutamente nada de nada, solo llega un tipo con dinero a causar caos por que si.
Side effect is even worse in this section since not only does it not give a clear context but it also presents different scenarios which are not understood by themselves nor are they explained, making everything confusing and unintelligible.
Side effect es incluso peor en este apartado puesto que no solo no da un contexto claro sino que presenta diferentes escenarios los cuales no se entienden por si solos ni tampoco son explicados, haciendo que todo sea confuso e ininteligible.
I did not want to get to this section since the plots in both tapes are totally horrible in their own way, in Bingo Hell everything feels very random, things happening just because without any kind of explanation, although some things remain tacit, others simply remain as data thrown without any kind of order and absolutely all of them are totally absurd making it impossible for the film to be taken seriously. People's greed can be an interesting subject for a movie, but it is simply poorly worked and results in something poorly done.
No quería llegar a este apartado puesto que las tramas en ambas cintas son totalmente horribles a su manera, en Bingo Hell todo se siente muy aleatorio pasando cosas solo porque si sin ninguna clase de explicación, si bien algunas cosas quedan tacitas otras simplemente quedan como datos arrojados sin ninguna clase de orden y absolutamente todos son totalmente absurdos haciendo imposible que se pueda tomar en serio el filme. La avaricia de las personas puede ser un tema interesante para una película pero sencillamente es mal trabajado y deja como resultado algo mal hecho.
For its part, Side effect is even worse since here the data is not superfluous but scarce, the ideas are not clear and the fact that it tries to make you care about its empty characters is simply impossible. The viewer is left in the air with the few data that are given since none is developed and the plot advances without the least sense or coherence in his ideas, the fact that the man is desperate to find a way to amend his mistake It is interesting but simply the concept evolves in a horrible way making each piece of information that is given only brings up more doubts.
Por su parte Side effect es incluso peor puesto que aquí los datos no sobran sino que escasean, las ideas no son claras y el hecho de que intente que te importen sus personajes vacíos es simplemente imposible. El espectador queda en el aire con los pocos datos que se dan puesto que ninguno es desarrollado y la trama avanza sin que exista el mínimo sentido o coherencia en sus ideas, el hecho de que el hombre este desesperado por encontrar una forma de enmendar su error es interesante pero sencillamente el concepto evoluciona de manera horrible haciendo que cada dato que se da solo traiga más dudas.
As a cherry on top, there is a huge problem with both films and it is the fact that neither is absolutely scary at all, my goodness they are the worst exposes of horror films that I have seen in a long time. If they had told me before seeing them that they were some kind of parody of the genre, I would have believed it because simply none of them deserves to be classified as horror under any circumstances.
Como cereza sobre el postre existe un problema enorme con ambas películas y es el hecho de que ninguna da absolutamente nada de miedo, dios santo son el peor exponen de las cintas de terror que he visto en mucho tiempo. Si me hubiesen dicho antes de verlas que eran alguna clase de parodia al género me lo hubiese creído porque sencillamente ninguna merece que sean catalogadas como de terror bajo ninguna circunstancia.
I detailed earlier that the characters were horrible in all respects but I will take the time to write about his villains who are just pathetic, in Bingo Hell he is some kind of weird maniac who expects people to settle for greed and then for reasons that unexplained commit suicide in strange ways, being such a pitiful villain that he causes more hurt than anything else. Side effect makes it even worse since her villain is half explained and the little explanation that is given does not make sense, she is simply a girl that somehow steals her life, soul or I don't know what the hell and manages to lengthen his life. The concept itself is worn out and the execution is even worse, the funny thing is that the tape expects you to take it seriously by trying to sell it as mysterious and disturbing but it is simply boring and irrelevant.
Ya detalle anteriormente que los personajes eran horribles en todos los aspectos pero me tomare el tiempo para escribir sobre sus villanos que son simplemente patéticos, en Bingo Hell es alguna clase de maniaco extraño que espera que la gente seda ante la codicia y después por motivos que no se explican se suicidan de maneras extrañas, siendo un villano tan lamentable que causa lastima más que otra cosa. Side effect lo hace incluso peor puesto que su villana se explica a medias y la poca explicación que se da no tiene sentido, es simplemente una tipa que de alguna forma mediante hongos le roba la vida, el alma o no sé qué demonios y logra alargar su vida. El concepto en si está gastado y la ejecución es aún peor, lo gracioso es que la cinta espera que te la tomes en serio al intentar venderla como alguien misteriosa y perturbadora pero sencillamente es aburrida e irrelevante.
Bingo Hell and Side effect have many problems in common, but the most important one is very simple: They are not scary at all, they are boring to the extreme and tedious to watch since their ability to catch the viewer's attention is zero, all this makes seeing them Annoying, damn I would have preferred that they put in a screamer so that there would be some excitement, for all the aforementioned Bingo Hell deserves a half-star rating of 7. For its part, Side effect does not come out a better stop since it tries to generate fear but it is simply all quite bland and incomprehensible so it generates a rating of 1,5 out of 7. The first does not ambition anything and only does everything because yes and the second tries to sell itself as something complex but it is boring in industrial quantities, do not waste your time watching none of these clunkers since they are not worth it at all.
Bingo Hell y Side effect tienen muchos problemas en común pero el más importante es muy sencillo: No dan miedo en absoluto, son aburridas al extremo y tediosas de ver puesto que su capacidad de atrapar la atención del espectador es nula todo esto hace que verlas sea molesto, carajo hasta hubiese preferido que metiesen un screamer para que hubiese algo de emoción, por todo lo mencionado Bingo Hell se merece una calificación de media estrella de 7. Por su parte Side effect no sale mejor parada puesto que intenta generar miedo pero simplemente es todo bastante soso e incomprensible por lo que le genera una calificación de 1,5 de 7. La primera no ambiciona nada y solo hace todo porque si y la segunda intenta venderse como algo complejo pero es aburrida en cantidades industriales, no pierdan su tiempo viendo ninguno de estos bodrios puesto que no merecen la pena en absoluto.
