Welcome dear internet travelers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, we are on the eve of Halloween and although I do not celebrate it I love horror movies and that will be today's review. Many times I have read that today's horror movies are quite bad and that in general they are not good but today we will make a difference by talking about the movie The Night House, which presents us with a woman who has just lost her husband and he realizes that it was not what he thought, just to add turn off the light and make sure you are alone that we are about to start.
Bienvenidos queridos viajeros de internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, estamos en vísperas de halloween y aunque no lo celebro me encantan las películas de terror y de eso será la reseña de hoy. Muchas veces he leído que las películas de terror de hoy en día son bastante malas y que en general no son buenas pero hoy marcaremos la diferencia hablando de la película The Night House, que nos plantea a una mujer que acaba de perder a su esposo y se da cuenta de que no era lo que pensaba, sin más que agregar apaguen la luz y asegúrense de estar solo que estamos por comenzar.
The Night House was released in 2020 and directed by David Bruckner, it has a duration of 1 hour and 48 minutes. The story revolves around Beth an elementary school teacher who tries to continue with her life after the suicide of her husband, he was an architect and built the whole house so every corner of the house reminds her of him . Everything worsens when she begins to have disturbing dreams and to feel a ghostly presence in the house at night so she begins to investigate the fact, soon she will realize that her husband was hiding more secrets from her than she thought.

La historia gira en torno a Beth una maestra de primaria la cual intenta seguir con su vida tras el suicidio de su esposo, él era un arquitecto y construyo toda la casa por lo que cada rincón de la casa le recuerda a él. Todo empeora cuando empieza a tener sueños perturbadores y a sentir una presencia fantasmal en la casa durante la noche por lo que empieza a investigar el hecho, pronto se dará cuenta de que su esposo le escondía más secretos de los que pensaba.

She is our protagonist and at all times of the film she is quite confused and shocked by all the discoveries that she is making which distort the image she had of her husband. All this is accompanied by dreams and the ghostly presence that make him consider if she is losing her sanity, constantly noting her desperation for answers.
Es nuestra protagonista y en todo momento de la cinta se encuentra bastante confundida e impactada por todos los descubrimientos que va haciendo los cuales distorsionan la imagen que tenía de su esposo. Todo ello va acompañado de los sueños y la presencia fantasmal que le hacen considerar si está perdiendo la cordura notándose constantemente su desesperación por conseguir respuestas.
There are really no other characters that are focused since the film only focuses on the teacher and the others are simply tools to express the concern of her close circle for the fact that she is losing her mind due to all the events that she believes that she pass.
Realmente no hay otros personajes que sean enfocados puesto que el filme solo se enfoca en la profesora y los demás son simplemente herramientas para manifestar la preocupación de su círculo cercano por el hecho de que esté perdiendo la razón por todos los sucesos que ella cree que le pasan.
The music is simply wonderful and completely in line for a horror movie being perfect for the moment and manages to introduce the viewer to each scene.
La música es simplemente maravillosa y completamente acorde para una película de terror siendo perfecta para el momento y logra introducir al espectador en cada escena.
The construction of the world is very well achieved due to the fact that there is an appropriate context for the film, that scenario of ignorance and concern generated after a suicide is perfectly reflected, in turn, that concern of the people close to Beth is also manifested for all the situations that you are experiencing when you have the doubt of not knowing if you are raving about your grief or really all those paranormal events are really happening to you. The scenarios they present are what you can expect from these types of films, being dark and terrifying in general, however it is excellent that it raises the question of whether they are real or is it just the protagonist who is losing her sanity.
La construcción de mundo es muy bien lograda debido a que se da un contexto acorde para la cinta, se refleja perfectamente ese escenario de desconocimiento y preocupación generada tras un suicidio, a su vez también se manifiesta esa preocupación de las personas cercanas de Beth por todas las situaciones que esta está experimentando al tener la duda de no saber si se encuentra desvariando por su duelo o realmente todos esos sucesos paranormales realmente le están ocurriendo. Los escenarios que presentan son lo que puedes esperar de este tipo de películas siendo oscuros y aterradores en general sin embargo es excelente el hecho de que plantee la interrogante de si son reales o es solo la protagonista que está perdiendo la cordura.
The plot is quite compelling since it provides only and exclusively the information that Beth finds, transmitting to the viewer the intrigue and bewilderment that she feels. The exploration is gradual and is giving different plot twists being that some are well achieved and others not so much since it goes from psychological terror to paranormal that all of a sudden it sounds quite good but in some points it could have been developed better, especially the ending that feels somewhat forced and out of place. All these problems are caused by that gender change which was not necessary since the concept of doubting if the protagonist is losing her mind when discovering the morbid secrets that her husband had was much more interesting.
La trama es bastante atrapante puesto que se proporciona única y exclusivamente la información que va encontrando Beth transmitiendo al espectador la intriga y el desconcierto que ella siente. La exploración va siendo paulatina y va dando diferentes giros argumentales siendo que algunos están bien logrados y otros no tanto puesto que va pasando de terror psicológico a paranormal que de buenas a primeras suena bastante bueno pero en algunos puntos pudo haberse desarrollado mejor, sobre todo el final que se siente algo forzado y fuera de lugar. Todos estos problemas son provocados por ese cambio de género el cual no hacía falta puesto que era mucho más interesante el concepto de dudar si la protagonista está perdiendo el juicio al descubrir los secretos mórbidos que tenía su marido.
The only character that is explored is Beth since the others are simple tools to show sympathy and concern for her, although she is the only relevant character in the film, it does not make her less interesting. She is a well-achieved character because at all times her emotions are very well achieved making it inevitable to put herself in her situation, although she does not have a development if it is possible to feel her uncertainty and feelings for what makes the film more plausible.
El único personaje que es explorado es Beth puesto que los otros son simples herramientas para demostrar simpatía y preocupación por ella, pese a que es la única personaje relevante en la cinta no la hace menos interesante. Es un personaje bien logrado debido a que en todo momento sus emociones son muy bien logradas haciendo que sea inevitable ponerse en su situación, si bien no tiene un desarrollo si es posible palpar su incertidumbre y sentimientos por lo que hace al filme más plausible.
The Night House is a scary movie that puts the viewer on the edge of the seat and makes the mistake of trying to be 2 things at the same time so it ruins its ending but ignoring that in general, the movie is quite decent, it is what is expected of a horror movie so asking how well a good ending is greed, so it deserves a rating of 4,5 stars out of 7. It is a respite from those excessively bad horror movies, although it is not perfect it is quite good and the The fact that he doesn't resort to easy scares is another point in his favor.
The Night House es una película de miedo que pone al filo del asiento al espectador comete el error de intentar ser 2 cosas al mismo tiempo por lo que arruina su final pero obviando eso en general la película es bastante decente, es lo que se espera de una película de terror por lo que pedir que tan bien de un buen final es avaricia, por ello merece una calificación de 4,5 estrellas sobre 7. Es un respiro de aquellas películas de terror excesivamente malas, si bien no es perfecta es bastante buena y el hecho de que no recurra a sustos fáciles es otro punto a su favor.
