Hello my dear readers, the author of this publication had the need to succumb to a charming story that enlivened his nights in a singular way. The end of a tragic year made him weigh the idea of giving a chance to that delightful guilty taste, to which he gave in with the doubts that such an uncertain situation merited.
Leaving formalisms behind, I wanted to make the introductory text something that would remind me of one of the characters that generated the most interest in me during my journey through the series that brings me before you today. First of all the premise of this story interested me for the simple fact of being based on a novel, I thought I was going to find something similar to Pride and Prejudice so I gave myself a chance with this show.
Over the last few years I have been challenging my tastes, giving a chance to hundreds of series, movies or content that according to my tastes were not going to entertain me. This meant a disappointing result in many cases and other pleasing ones like this one. I can only invite you to discover this story in the words of this author.

Hola mis queridos lectores, el autor de esta publicaci贸n tuvo la necesidad de sucumbir ante una historia encantadora que ameniz贸 sus noches de manera singular. El final de un a帽o tr谩gico le hizo sopesar la idea de darle la oportunidad a ese deleitoso gusto culposo, ante el cual cedi贸 con las dudas que ameritaba tan incierta situaci贸n.
Dejando atr谩s los formalismos, quise hacer del texto introductorio algo que hiciera recordar a uno de los personaje que m谩s inter茅s me gener贸 durante el recorrido por la serie que hoy me trae ante ustedes. En primer lugar la premisa de esta historia me interes贸 por el simple hecho de estar basada en una novela, pensaba yo que me iba a encontrar con algo parecido a Orgullo y Prejuicio as铆 que me di una oportunidad con este show.
En los 煤ltimos a帽os he estado desafiando mis gustos, dando oportunidad a cientos de series, pel铆culas o contenido que seg煤n mis gustos no me iban a entretener. Esto signific贸 un resultado decepcionante muchos casos y otros gratos como este mismo. No me queda m谩s que invitarles a descubrir esta historia en las palabras de este autor.

It stars Phoebe Dynevor, Reg茅-Jean Page, Jonathan Bailey, Nicola Coughlan, Claudia Jessie, Adjoa Andoh, Luke Thompson, Ruby Barker and Julie Andrews among others. The story is based on a saga of 8 novels by the successful American writer Julia Quinn.
The soundtrack was directed by Kris Bowers (Green Book) who also covered songs by Billie Eilish, Arianna Grande and Taylor Swift.
The costumes were designed by Ellen Mirojnick, who did a masterful job recreating the fashion of the early 19th century. Every piece is well cared for down to the smallest detail is incredible in Bridgerton.

Simon Basset (Reg茅-Jean Page) had a hard childhood because of the stuttering he suffered, his father despised him and treated him very badly, Simon grew up and vowed never to marry or have children. All that will change when he meets Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevo) a girl on the eve of her presentation to society. The 2 are pursued by many suitors so they come to an agreement in which the 2 pretend to be engaged. The 2 begin a clandestine affair until the elder Bridgerton Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) realizes it and confronts Simon in a duel to the death, in which Simon agrees to marry Daphne.
The marriage will be hell due to Simon's refusal who is now the Duke of Hastings to have children. A number of side stories intertwine to form the story of the 8 siblings that make up this family: Anthony, Daphne Bridgerton, Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), Hyacinth Bridgerton (Florence Hunt), Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), Francesca Bridgerton (Ruby Stokes), Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Gregory Bridgerton (Will Tilston).
Meanwhile a mystery shrouds the story with the appearance of Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews) a mysterious author who will reveal the characters' innermost secrets.

Todo eso cambiara cuando conoce a Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevo) una muchacha en v铆speras de su presentaci贸n a la sociedad. Los 2 son perseguidos por muchos pretendientes por lo que llegan a un acuerdo en el cual los 2 fingen que est谩n comprometidos. Los 2 comenzaran un romance clandestino hasta que el mayor de los Bridgerton Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) se da cuenta y enfrenta a Simon en un duelo a muerte, en el que Simon se compromete a casarse con Daphne.
El matrimonio ser谩 un infierno debido al rechazo de Simon que ahora es el Duque de Hastings a tener hijos. The first thing I knew about this series is that it was going to be produced by none other than the creator of Grey's Anatomy, Shonda Rhimes. I have never seen an episode of the series set in a hospital but I do know that it is one of the longest running shows on the American screen.
The fact that the first production the production company made for Netflix can't be pigeonholed into one genre is largely because Bridgerton is a veritable cocktail of genres and I think in other cases that would be a disaster but in this particular case it's the secret to success.
The set design in Bridgerton is splendorous, set in the high society of Regency England, with fascinating scenery that will shine as brightly as its story. The cast was impeccably cast, especially the main couple Dynevor and Page, who have a solid chemistry, and transmit their feelings to the surface.
Despite being a series with a white family as the main character, I thought it was a good thing that the main male role went to a black man, in this point Bridgerton is brilliant mixing a diverse and pompous cast. It is likely that these characters would not be as relevant if they were real, but in a story where literary licenses abound it was to be expected. The story seems to be of the period, although the language used has nothing to do with that, and the problems portrayed are as current as our times.

Lo primero que supe de esta serie es que iba a estar producida por Shonda Rhimes nada m谩s y nada menos que la creadora de Grey鈥檚 Anatomy. Nunca he visto un cap铆tulo de la serie de la serie ambientada en un hospital pero si s茅 que es uno de los shows m谩s longevos de la pantalla estadounidense.
El hecho de que la primera producci贸n que hizo la productora para Netflix no pueda ser encasillada en un solo g茅nero es en gran medida porque Bridgerton es un aut茅ntico coctel de g茅neros y creo que en otros casos eso ser铆a un desastre pero en este caso en particular es el secreto del 茅xito.
La escenograf铆a en Bridgerton es esplendorosa, ambientada en la alta sociedad de la 茅poca de la Regencia en Inglaterra, con fascinantes escenarios que brillaran tanto como su historia. El elenco estuvo impecablemente elegido sobre todo la pareja principal que forman Dynevor y Page la cual tienen una s贸lida qu铆mica, y transmiten los sentimientos a flor de piel.
A pesar de ser una serie con una familia blanca como protagonista me pareci贸 un acierto que el rol masculino principal fuera a parar en manos de un negro, en este punto Bridgerton es brillante mezclando un elenco diverso y pomposo. Es probable que dichos personajes no tuvieran tanta relevancia si fueran reales, pero en una historia donde abundan las licencias literarias era de esperarse. La historia parece ser de 茅poca aunque de eso no tenga nada el lenguaje utilizado y los problemas retratados son tan actuales como nuestros tiempos
Another thing that I find interesting is how sex is treated in the story without taboos or restrictions of any kind. It's kind of like Gossip Girl meets Pride and Prejudice where anything goes.
Especially interesting was the character of Lady Whistledown, turned into a sort of paparazzi who leaked information about the aristocratic characters in the story. A delightful participation whose identity is revealed towards the end of the plot.
But there were also some blunders, especially with regard to the little space devoted to Queen consort Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, a real historical character who devoted herself to ruling her country once her husband fell ill with dementia.
Otra cosa que me parece interesante es como se trata el sexo en la historia sin tab煤es ni restricciones de ning煤n tipo. Es una especie de Gossip Girl con Orgullo y Prejuicio donde todo se vale.
Especialmente interesante fue el personaje de Lady Whistledown, convertida en una especie de paparazzi que filtraba informaci贸n acerca de los personajes aristocr谩ticos de la historia. Una participaci贸n deliciosa cuya identidad se desvela hacia el final de la trama.
Pero tambi茅n hubieron desaciertos sobre todo con respecto al poco espacio que se dedic贸 a la Reina consorte Carlota de Mecklemburgo-Strelitz un personaje hist贸rico real que se dedic贸 a gobernar su pa铆s una vez su esposo enferm贸 de demencia.
Bridgerton came to save us from a year that brought us a pandemic and had us locked in our homes and did so because of her stories framed in situations that could happen to you or me. At a time when many of us are separated from our families when we should be closer than ever, the real strategy for us to fall in love with Bridgerton was not the romance or the extravagant costumes but the incredible closeness of the Bridgerton family, who support each other without hesitation and that was especially an encouragement in 2020.
I hope above all that you will give this dramedy a chance maybe you are interested in being entertained or just watching some mystery and romance. I did beloved readers and as Lady Whistledown would say: I'm afraid this author would like to give such a brilliant romance a score of 9/10.
Bridgerton lleg贸 para salvarnos de un a帽o que nos trajo una pandemia y que nos hizo encerrar en nuestras casas y lo hiz贸 por sus historias enmarcadas en situaciones que pueden pasarte a ti o a m铆. En una 茅poca en la que muchos de nosotros estamos separados de nuestras familias cuando deber铆amos estar m谩s unidos que nunca, la verdadera estrategia para enamorarnos de Bridgerton no fue el romance ni los extravagantes vestidos sino la incre铆ble cercan铆a de la familia Bridgerton, que se apoyan unos con otros sin dudar y eso fue especialmente un aliciente en el 2020.
Espero sobretodo que ustedes le den una oportunidad a este dram贸n quiz谩s les interese entretenerse o simplemente ver algo de misterio y romance. Yo lo hice amados lectores y como dir铆a Lady Whistledown: me temo que este autor le gustar铆a dar una puntuaci贸n de 9/10 a tan brillante romance.
