Endless Paths get harder as you go on, but working on leveling through the Crucible Knights and other quests make it easier
Fear and madness are some of what waits below Caed Nua, in the Endless Paths. Kana was excited that it was finally time to make some progress and explore a little deeper which since they are already on level 1, it would be down to level 2 and 3 to start with and see what the enemies are like and come back later for more levels once stronger.
"Are you always this excitable?" asked TheGoliath.
"We're on the verge of a great discovery! I wonder at your restraint" replied Kana before getting a nod from TheGoliath and suggesting they start the journey down.
So down into the 2nd level of the Endless Paths the party went. Within this level was an easy time where everyone just used their basic attacks to hit the Xaurip and Wurms found throughout and even the Xaurip Priests were no different and they were blitzing through this level while disarming traps in the way.
"See this isn't so bad right here but I suspect we could only go the 1 level deeper before having to get a lot stronger for further down" announced Kana.
"Well I don't think we should go down that way yet since it looks to be very deep and could be very dangerous" said Eder.
Moving away from this dangerous pit, the party headed to level 3 of the Endless Paths which was going to be tougher.
They met a big ogre named Thulgar who had been exiled away from his camp due to Zolla and her ways, with them eating one another from madness. It was said that Zolla would be meeting her fate very shortly and so Thulgar was going to be happy if that happened.
The time to fight had come and the party wasn't wasting time. Fireball was cast along with cat form Flurry Attack from Hiravias and the claws were used well, piercing shot from Sagani and some healing helped out. Then both sides had members getting knocked down to stop damage output for a short time until they were back on their feet along with many other spells and abilities were cast to maximise damage and Zolla was defeated.
Once the reward was collected and a little more experience was gained towards the next level for each character, they headed back to the surface and to the Crucible Knights.
First bit of business was accept the small rewards for killing Eorn back down in the Catacombs a while back, they were happy with him being taken care of and offered quests as some extra work.
Next was to talk to Penhelm about Osric's breastplate family heirloom. This didn't go far right now but led to taking Penhelm's affidavit to Kurren so they could ask if it was indeed a forgery.
Upon leaving the building, Penhelm was waiting with two other knights to get the affidavit back. "You're right, take it" said TheGoliath before handing it back.
Penhelm was asked to do the same with Osric's family breastplate and asked if he was so stuck in the past that he needed to keep wearing his armour. This helped Penhelm see reason and think in a different way, so he gave the breastplate in hopes Osric would gain some peace and move on.
"Looks like you handled that one well TheGoliath" Hiravias mentioned as they headed back to Osric happy with some successful quest completions done both now and others to come.
"Here Osric, is this the armour you're looking for?" asked TheGoliath.
Osric was amazed and shocked to see it finally returned to him, but all the while happy again and wanting to move on. This was a nice amount of extra experience for the party and asking about the armour also followed with a gift of 2000 copper as a special thanks.
After selling off a lot of the loot gathered on their adventures lately to make more copper and quite a bit of it, it was a nice time to relax back at Caed Nua Keep at their own house sitting in the grounds next to the keep. This saved on the cost of resting at inns and provided free bonuses as well.
