I heard of Precious Child via a friend's most recent Dystopian Deep Dive into the recent Los Angeles tranny protests. DDD usually is spot on with her opinion and her facts on topics she covers but with this video I found myself listening intently as it was news that originally slipped me by. I appreciated the detail and chronology provided so much on this that I thought I'd do my own dystopian deep dive addendum. These squeamish tranny kiddy fucky cyborg po-mo-ho Sabbatean Sacrileges are topics I'm acquainted with yet DDD does manage to bring something new to it for me, and that's not just a feminine perspective.

Space Mountain. Aside from the fact that this gallery is one of the few alternative art spaces in Miami, you should head to Space Mountain for "DIVINITY." LA-based artist Precious Child will bring a multi-disciplinary show addressing abuse in a culture still in the wake of events like Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court. The opening night will feature performances by Precious Child, Non Grata, Wild Torus, and Oscillator, as well as a zine launching an initiative to address sexual violence in Miami's music and culture scene. So I went to Space Mountain mania to search through the past events / exhibitions to find Precious Child's, first image was an immediate ugh! reaction. Why put this image first up on this page?
This rancid debauchery as art, frozen into the medium of photography is not unfamiliar to me. Although the example that immediately came to mind upon my Ugh! reaction is performance art, it is extremely similar. You can scour through my previous articles to find the one where I covered YBDG: Young Boys Dancing Group which I'm proud to say I managed to have banned off facebook and have VICE[.]com unpublish their article on them.
The banning of their FB group & unpublishing did not not: the Sabbatean will to devour and deflower all sense and sensibility had to persist without pause. It was only a few days but I'm still quite proud to say I caused the YBDG some disruption quite early on.

Experimental musical and video artist Precious Child will be unveiling their gallery installation DIVINITY during Art Basel/Miami Art Week.
Prompted by the recent Supreme Court confirmation hearings, DIVINITY reflects on Precious Child’s experiences of and contemplations on abuse - the many ways it can be inflicted, experienced and re-experienced as it goes from secret to public. So often abuse is reacted to with distancing and marginalization, and approached as sensational entertainment or an impersonal platform by the public and media. Incorporating sculpture, audio and video elements, the installation aims to remind observers no one is truly free of implication.
ABOUT PRECIOUS CHILD:
Los Angeles-based artist Precious creates audiovisual and performance works exploring the many layers of identity and the individual perception of reality. Their music draws inspiration from multiple experimental genres, glossy mainstream pop, and metal. Also a prolific video artist, they often work in close collaboration with multimedia artist Cade, recalling sci-fi psychedelia and surrealist film. Arresting and often confrontational, their work has been praised across cultural media with their debut collaboration with Cade, the video "My Little Problem" being selected for film festivals including Tempt Fest, Desert Rocks Film Festival, COAX17 and Video!Video! Chicago. Their additional recent work includes compositionfor film, notably a soundtrack composed for the Neil Gaiman biopic "Dream Dangerously,” making music videos for artists MRKlovesyou and Vancorvid, video album “just a body”, short film “It Wants to Become”, and the re-interpretation album HALLOW expanding on their recent album, *WHOLLOHW*.
As the live act Precious Child, they have spent 2018 touring throughout North America, presenting their musical and video work in art galleries, music venues and DIY spaces around the country across more than 100 days (June-Present). As they continue this focus on presenting their work within the immediate context of performance, Precious plans to remove their work from public streaming services at the close of 2018. Instead, all new art and music will be released via a direct email club, to disassociate their art from the the shallow sensationalism, arbitrary censorship, rampant politicization, and fractiousness inherent to today’s internet culture.

O’ is pleased to present Phantasmagoria, a three-person exhibition curated by Samantha Greenfeld featuring works by Cade, Michael Rollins, and Mitra Saboury.
Much like a fun house, where the normative rules of the outside world are left at the door, three artists come together to transform the gallery into a fully immersive environment that warps conventional perceptions to produce an atmosphere of wacky whimsicality.
As you enter the space, you encounter Julius Caesar as he orates a dark-humored theatrical performance on trans-masculine identity and botched plastic surgery. Images of an uncanny pin-up boy adorn the walls, slowly leading you onward towards a dark and mysterious passageway. Spectral hands reach outward from the shadows, grasping and pulling you forward towards the final destination. At the end of the tunnel you find yourself submerged in a sea of undulating visuals. Mirrored projections dance in three dimensions, bending and and twisting the room in a cacophony of light and sound.
The works in this show bleed together as they generate a multidimensional visceral experience that engages with the body to arouse celebration and horror.
