There are several ways to source images to where the artist or photographer gets the credit and gets his name and works pushed out there for more exposure, and who doesn't want that when one is an artist or photographer? The more exposure the better chances of becoming more well known.

So, if you take some photos with your camera or your mobile phone, then we recommend that you state that in a "blanket statement" at the bottom of your post: "These photos were taken by me with my mobile phone (brand) and/or my camera (brand and model) and owned by me" which covers all of your photos of your authorship.

The blanket statement is so that any questions of authorship are eliminated right then and there. The reason for disclosing the mobile phone or camera that is used is so that inquisitive people who ask questions may be interested in knowing what device took your photos. Who knows, it could be a National Geographic Scout looking to recruit for photographers to put to work hahahaha!

If you are using any of the "free" image websites like Pixabay.com, Unsplash.com or Pexels.com, or any other website with "free" images, that basically means that anything that is not a stock image or a "pay-for-usage" image is "royalty-free" and most of the time state that it is not necessary to give attribution.

However, as I see it, if I were the artist or photographer, I would appreciate it if they were to mention me and list my page on that site if they could not "buy me a cup of coffee" (which is just a reference to just making a small donation). Also, if there is no author to attribute the photo to, then linking to that exact place where the photo came from will eliminate any possibility of accusations of plagiarism.

My wife and I went out to Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay one night at 11:30 pm and took some beautiful photos of San Francisco on a super clear night; no fog or any other hindrance. I took the pictures with my Pentax K1000 35mm with an F1.4 lens on it and on a tripod and with a timer. The next day, I took the roll of film in to be developed, and I waited about a week for the pictures to come back. They all came back with the negatives.

About two weeks after I had gotten them back, my wife and I were milling around at the local flea market, and we happened to go into a tent with some posters in it, which I always enjoyed looking at the artwork from all over. Well, lo and behold, I held up this one poster and showed my wife, and she said, "wow, that looks identical to one of the pictures from the camera roll."

Sure enough, someone from the developing company that developed my film had taken one of my negatives and worked it into a poster for sale at the local flea markets. I was a little less than thrilled, as I did not get the credit for my own work. So there is my tale of woe hahahahahahaha. It wasn't funny at the time, but this is why I'm pretty tight on having people make an attempt to give the authors or photographers the credit they deserve.
