Psycho Pass is a story that from its beginnings has shown us an overflowing talent. With a quite original plot, the film takes us further into the history of this science fiction Universe where politics, technology and war are of the utmost importance.
It is the year 2116 and in Japan they use a technology called SYBIL to detect something they call crime coefficient, this to prevent crime in an automated way in citizens. Apparently in Japan it was a success and the other world powers wanted to implement it as well.
SEaun is a collision of a Southeast Asian country that buys this technology from the Japanese. On the other hand, in Japan there are terrorist attacks and the government suspects that Kougami Shinya (a deserter from the system) is behind all this, located in Seaun. Of course, the SEaun government opens the doors to Japanese intelligence so that they can investigate this subject more closely.
Psycho Pass es una historia que desde sus principios nos ha mostrado un talento desbordante. Con un argumento bastante original, la película nos adentra aún más en la historia de este Universo de ciencia ficción en donde la política, la tecnología y la guerra cobran suma importancia.
Es el año 2116 y en Japón usan una tecnología llamada SYBIL para detectar algo que llaman coeficiente de criminalidad, esto para prevenir el crimen de manera automatizada en los ciudadanos. Al parecer en Japón fue un éxito y las demás potencias mundiales quisieron implementarlo también.
SEaun es una colisión de país del sureste asiático que compra esta tecnología a los japoneses. Por otro lado en Japón hay unos ataques terroristas y el gobierno sospecha que Kougami Shinya (un desertor del sistema) está detrás de todo esto, ubicado en Seaun. Por supuesto, el gobierno de SEaun le abre las puertas a la inteligencia japonesa para que puedan investigar a este sujeto mas de cerca.
I had watched the Psycho Pass series a long time ago and had vague memories when watching the movie but you can say with complete confidence that it is not necessary to have to be aware of what happened in the series. The film does its own work and despite not being a completely exclusive plot of the series, there will be no problem if you have not seen the first season of the series.
Something a bit criticized about the series is that they have a cast of voices that must speak in English but the Japanese accent is so strong that it leaves much to be desired. I do not understand how difficult it was to contact a native of English to be able to dub these characters but the fact is that this was a real disaster and the bad work of the voices that try to emulate an American accent but cannot do it is very noticeable.
La serie de Psycho Pass la había visto hace mucho tiempo y tenía vagos recuerdos al momento de ver la película pero puede decir con completa confianza que no es necesario tener que estar al tanto de lo que sucedió en la serie. La película hace su propio trabajo y pese a no ser una trama completamente excluyente de la serie, no habrá ningún problema si no has visto la primera temporada de la serie.
Algo un poco criticable de la serie es que cuentan con un elenco de voces que debe hablar en inglés pero el acento japonés es tan fuerte que deja mucho que desear. No entiendo que tan difícil era contactar a un nativo del inglés para poder doblar a estos personajes pero el hecho es que esto fue un auténtico desastre y se nota muchísimo el mal trabajo de las voces que intentan emular un acento americano pero no consiguen hacerlo.
Focusing now on the plot, I consider this to be a very well crafted dystocia that follows one of the pillars of science fiction, "Brave New World." This is a cyberpunk story that is not decadent but on the contrary, technology complies with a perfect order at the cost of taking away the privacy and freedom of its citizens.
Things similar to this can be seen today and of course to a lesser extent in countries like China, where a huge network of security cameras monitoring every aspect of its citizens. Despite all this, most of the Chinese population says they agree with these measures since the crime rate has dropped considerably.
The truth is that Psycho Pass is not far from being a possible future somewhere on our planet. Governments are increasingly interested in invading our privacy and punishing subversive people who do not wish to fulfill their objectives. I agree that punishing crime is necessary and enforcing the law but as long as that law is democratized and an election of a majority. When the law is only of a few, it falls into the terrain of autocracy and authoritarianism, which unleashes a tyranny.
Centrándonos ahora en la trama, considero que esta es una distocia muy bien elaborado que sigue uno de los pilares de la ciencia ficción, “Un Mundo Feliz”. Esta es una historia cyberpunk que no es decadente sino lo contrario, la tecnología cumple con un orden perfecto a costa de quitarles la privacidad y libertad a sus ciudadanos.
Cosas similares a esta se pueden ver en la actualidad y por supuesto en menor media en países como en China, donde a una enorme red de cámaras de seguridad vigilando cada aspecto de sus ciudadanos. Pese a todo esto, la mayor parte de la población China dice estar de acuerdo con estas medidas ya que la tase de crimen ha bajado considerablemente.
Lo cierto es que Psycho Pass no dista demasiado de ser un futuro posible en algún lugar de nuestro planeta. Cada vez los gobiernos están más interesados en invadir nuestra privacidad y castigar a personas subversivas que no desean cumplir con sus objetivos. Estoy de acuerdo en que castigar el crimen es algo necesario y hacer cumplir la ley pero siempre y cuando esa ley sea democratizada y una elección de una mayoría. Cuando la ley es solo de unos pocos cae en terreno de la autocracia y autoritarismo lo que desencadena en una tiranía.
Nor do I believe that violating privacy in every aspect of our life is the best way to achieve peace. In addition, there will always be people capable of tampering with any code, any technology and any system in order to achieve their misdeeds. Evil and goodness are a choice and intrinsic parts of what it is to be human, it is more important to create a value system and a high education at an early age in order to raise awareness among the population.
In a world where scientism and addiction to technology is everything, values and ethics little by little go unnoticed, forming a fracture in our society. I have always thought that learning about this from a young age could help us a lot to grow in a better way, however invasion and power are much easier than education and awareness of human beings.
Tampoco creo que violar la privacidad en cada aspecto de nuestra vida sea la mejor manera de conseguir la paz. Además, siempre habrá personas capaces de alterar cualquier código, cualquier tecnología y cualquier sistema para poder lograr sus fechorías. La maldad y la bondad son una elección y partes intrínsecas de lo que es ser humano, es más importante crear un sistema de valores y una educación elevada a temprana edad para poder concientizar a la población.
En un mundo donde el cientificismo y la adicción a la tecnología lo es todo, los valores y ética poco a poco pasan desapercibidos, formando una fractura en nuestra sociedad. Siempre he pensado que aprender sobre esto desde pequeños podría ayudarnos mucho a crecer de una mejor manera sin embargo es mucho más fácil la invasión y el poder que la educación y concientización de los seres humanos.
