La precaución es algo que se debe tener en todo momento sin embargo, hay personas que no previenen. Los bomberos en muchos países trabajan de forma voluntaria y por amor al arte, por así decirlo… pero muchas veces no nos tomamos el tiempo para valorar cada una de sus actividades y lo importante que son para todos nosotros en general, cuando más los necesitamos acuden a socorrernos arriesgando su vida frente a las intensas llamas del fuego, y al no poder respirar. Incluso, a la larga causándoles enfermedades respiratorias crónicas como EPOC. Por lo que más que un voluntariado, debería ser una profesión mejor valorada y pagada o con mejores salarios.

Caution is something you should have at all times however, there are people who do not prevent. Firefighters in many countries work voluntarily and out of love of art, so to speak... but often we do not take the time to value each of their activities and how important they are to all of us in general, when we need them most to come to our aid risking their lives in the face of the intense flames of fire, and not being able to breathe. Cuando digo arriba de que existen personas que no previenen, me refiero a que no son cuidadosas y se arriesgan a incendios, mi vecino en esta oportunidad estaba cocinando con leña debido a la problemática de la escasez de gas en Venezuela, y al tener gasolina en galones muy cerca del fuego el humo se esfumo y cayó cerca de uno de los galones de gasolina... Por lo que empezó el fuego a crecer, muchos pensaron que usando agua apagarían el fuego y no, más bien expandió el fuego y causaba que la llama fuera más alta. Por lo que recurrimos entre todos los vecinos y no vecinos, a apagarlo con arena que por suerte tenía un vecino para construir... entre todos juntamos muchos tobos de arenas y se lo tirábamos al fuego, duramos aproximadamente 40 minutos arduos tirando tobos de arena, hasta que por fin se logró apagar el fuego principal.

Pero no, no había cesado el inminente fuego.. ya había llegado al siguiente piso de la casa pero era obvio que no podíamos entrar porque era un espacio cerrado y podíamos desmayarnos frente a las peligrosas llamas del fuego. Por lo que al aviso previo de los bomberos por parte de una de las vecinas que miraba con temor mientras tirábamos arena al fuego, llegaron justo a tiempo.. Los bomberos que entraron y apagaron lo que ya se había expandido (quitaron la electricidad siendo precavidos para proteger a los bomberos). Llegaron bomberos de mi universidad, la cual es una institución ejemplar y llegaron los bomberos del estado que también agradezco que hayan asistido.

Afortunadamente solo hubo daños materiales y no perdidas de vidas, aprendí mucho y ahora estoy más convencido de que hay que valorar el esfuerzo de esos héroes. Y que el fuego no necesariamente se apaga con agua… que la arena es lo mejor para apagarlo si no se cuenta con extintores

Fortunately there was only material damage and no loss of life, I learned a lot and now I am more convinced that the effort of these heroes must be valued. And that fire doesn’t necessarily go out with water... that sand is the best thing to put out if you don’t have fire extinguishers
