# Science at home! Fun homemade experiments for the little ones. Today we will make a Homemade Newton Disc and we will play with the colors!

Hello friends @steemiteducation, the education of our children is fundamental for us as parents and that is why we always have to look for the best teaching tools that help us transmit knowledge in a practical and fun way. The experiments at home are a very valuable tool that we have to take advantage of, they offer us infinite possibilities that we must use to teach.

Today we are performing a fun experiment that will enchant the children as they will make a spinning top which they can use to play and at the same time learn the theory of Newton when they created their Disco, so let's see what we need to do this fun activity!

# Materials:

• A white sheet

• A CD

• Colors

• Pencil

• Ruler

• Scissors

• Marble

• Paste

# Process:

• To build our homemade newton record we have to make a kind of spinning top with the CD and the marble.

• First of all we draw a circle of the size of the CD on the sheet of paper and, with the help of the protractor, we divide the circle into 7 equal sectors.

• With the colored pencils we draw each sector of a different color. For example red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

• The experiment comes out better if we divide the circle into 14 equal sectors and draw two sets of 7 colors.

• Next, we cut the circle and make a hole in the center of the size of the marble.

• Finally, we fix the paper circle to the CD and stick the marble in the center.

• Turning the CD with your hands on a horizontal surface we will see the white disc.

# What has happened?

Isaac Newton (1643-1727) discovered that if sunlight is passed through a prism, light is broken down into the seven colors of the rainbow. From this experience he deduced that if white light breaks down into the seven colors of the rainbow, by mixing these colors white light could be obtained.

Newton's disk is a device invented by Isaac Newton himself consisting of a circle painted with a series of different colors. If the disc is rotated with sufficient speed the colors are confused and the disc will look white.

Children love to do experiments. With them, while having fun, they learnand ask questions about the world around them. Among its many benefits, scientific exploration feeds the child's natural curiosity, fosters his interest in science, stimulates reasoning and logic, improves his ability to solve problems, increases his self-esteem and prepares them to understand more complicated scientific concepts in the future. To enjoy science is not necessary to have a laboratory, you will be surprised by the amount of experiments that can be done with some home materials. So do not wait any longer, get to work and have fun with your children or students.I hope that this article has been of your interest and help, and I hope you in my next publication!Regards!!!
