INTRO
So in my last video, I showed you guys few cards that will help you get from Novice to Silver very quickly, however, I didn’t really explain how to position them and which ruleset to use them for.
Once you get to a certain level you will notice that every game comes with its unique rulesets that you must follow, for example, there might be a round where no summoner abilities will be used, only odd number mana monsters are allowed, etc.
So to do a quick recap on how this all works, the first card you will need to get is Mylor Crowling, I already discussed what this card does but basically, it gives all your monsters “thorns” ability which will deal 2 damage back to the opponent's melee monsters that attacks your card.
Now the following cards depend heavily on the rulesets and the mana cap but typically I like to use Stone Golem a lot because he has “reduced damage” from melee and ranged monsters. These two cards alone will make you feel pretty comfortable going against a melee-heavy team.
The next card is a good monster to have if you know you’re going against a magic heavy team (typically Light or Water) is “Mushroom Seer” which reduces the magical attacks on all the opponent's monsters. When you go against higher-ranked opponents typically when they see that you’ve been playing earth a lot they will try to counter you with a magic heavy team. This is where this card comes in handy, try to place this card in the middle so it can deal damage.
Another card that is a must in most situations is the Wood Nymph card, when you have a beefy character up in the front with a lot of HP this card will heal your frontline while dealing damage.
This card is situational depending on the mana cap but Unicorn Mustang is another good card to keep in mind, I’d say this card and the stone golem are your top 2 defensive cards that you should take advantage of early on. It has reduced damage from Magic Attack so typically when I have this on my battlefield I wouldn’t use Mushroom Seer.
Next, we are gonna take a look at some ranged monsters you can use, my top two picks are “Mitica Headhunter” and “Javelin Thrower”. These are not starter cards so you would have to either purchase them or rent them however they are extremely cheap currently to rent out so you will make that back within few hours of playing.
The last card I want to show you is the “Centauri Mage” card which is especially good whenever someone is trying to hard counter you with ranged monsters. Centauri Mage with Thorns is one of the most powerful combinations in the game right now that you can get started right away with a little bit of DEC investment.
So these are the main ones that I would recommend, there are other cards you can buy however these cards will be more than enough to get you cruising through Silver.
