Precisely on this new date of the highest category of world motorsport, a novelty never tested until now will begin to be used, the classification and starting order for Sunday's competition will be determined by a sprint (short race) that will last 17 laps and It will be held today, additionally, this mini race will award 3 points to the winner, 2 to the second and 1 to the third, another additional novelty.
You couldn't expect anything else from the country and the circuit that organized the first race in the history of Formula 1 71 years ago.
Another curious fact is that the previous year, precisely due to the inconveniences derived from the pandemic, 2 races were held in Silverston with a week of difference and the winners were Hamilton in the first and Verstappen in the second, the two drivers that this year they promise a huge fight to win the champion's crown; for the first time in several years of absolute command of English there is real competition between the two drivers and their vehicle brands: Mercedes and Red Bull.
This new modality will continue to be tested in future races and then it will be decided whether to adopt it from there in more to be part of the show or to return to the traditional scheme. Public opinion will surely be the referee.

Si hay algo que los ingleses saben hacer es montar buenos shows, por algo los Estados Unidos tienen esa tradición bien arraigada y es un caso típico donde el alumno supera al maestro.
En pleno verano y pese a la pandemia organizan en tándem el torneo de Wimbledon, una de las citas emblemáticas en el calendario del tenis mundial, luego el Open Británico de Golf, el torneo más importante del planeta en ese deporte y finalmente la carrera de F1 que habitualmente se desarrolla en el emblemático circuito de Silverston, el antiguo y mítico aeródromo totalmente remodelado que comenzó a utilizarse para carreras de autos apenas finalizada la segunda guerra mundial.
Justamente en esta nueva fecha de la máxima categoría del automovilismo mundial comenzará a utilizarse una novedad jamás probada hasta ahora, la clasificación y orden de largada para la competencia del domingo estará determinada por un sprint (carrera corta) que tendrá una duración de 17 vueltas y se disputará en el día de hoy, adicionalmente esta mini carrera otorgará 3 puntos al ganador, 2 al segundo y 1 al tercero, otra novedad adicional.
No se podía esperar otra cosa del país y el circuito que organizó la primera carrera de la historia de la fórmula 1 hace de esto ya 71 años.
Otro hecho curioso está dado en que el año anterior, justamente por los inconvenientes derivados de la pandemia, se disputaron 2 carreras en Silverston con una semana de diferencia y los ganadores fueron Hamilton en la primera y Verstappen en la segunda, los dos pilotos que este año prometen una lucha descomunal para llevarse la corona de campeón; por primera vez en varios años de dominio absoluto del inglés hay competencia real entre los dos pilotos y sus marcas de vehículos: Mercedes y Red Bull.
Esta nueva modalidad seguirá siendo probada en próximas carreras y luego se decidirá si se adopta desde allí en más para formar parte del show o se vuelve al esquema tradicional. La opinión pública será el árbitro seguramente.
