Hi, everybody!

I'm happy to announce my return to the Hive Blockchain ! Well ok, since it's a new blockchain theoretically, I should say my entry on Hive, like all of you, but I want to underline my return to the Steem community (now Hive).

Lately...

Lately, I admit I've been distancing myself from Steem and cryptos in general... but not for lack of interest, on the contrary ! By the way, all this has finally convinced me to study computer science in more depth so that one day I can, in my turn, contribute to the development of the ecosystems I cherish and so I have started a program in web development !

Also, even though my @soushi888 account was inactive for a while, I was still present in the shadows, continuing to vote with Steem québec (@steemquec) and playing with the new community feature ! More recently, as you may have seen, we took the decision to close Steem Québec (its name will no longer be relevant on Hive) to "merge" it with Francosttemvotes (@francosteemvotes) to be more efficient in our curation work (see our post). More news will follow concerning this (among other things, who knows... the announcement of Hive Quebec to complete all this? 😜), but that's not the subject of this article!

What I learned at school

As said, I lacked presence in the world of crypto, because I decided to go from theory to practice ! I'm currently doing an ACS (Attestation of Collegial Studies) in web design and programming at Maisonneuve College! I'm now in my 4th semester and things are moving fast !

I started with some basics knowledge in HTML, CSS and PHP (very theoretical), but now I'm able to :

• Make 100% hand-coded responsive websites
• Create Wordpress themes and plugins
• Build APIs and web services
• Make animations and interactivity with Javascript
• Design, implement and manage mySQL databases.
• and much more to come!

As a Fullstack developer, I think I will enjoy working with the Steem Hive API to create websites for various communities in the future !

My blockchains of interest

I continue to be more passionate than ever about distributed technologies. In fact, I think that after my current ACS, I will take a few math courses and then enter the University of Sherbrooke to do a BAC in software engineering and really become a specialist in distributed architectures !

I think Steem Hive is still one of the best blockchains currently in use, despite the recent governance problems we've had to deal with.I'm very proud of the community, because with Hive, we are proving what open-source and free technology means: The community stays in control !

This encourages me greatly to start publishing again regularly (why not once a week ?), especially since I have a lot of new knowledge and thoughts to share with you !

However, I must confess that I have a new favorite technology related to all this that is not in the DPoS family... and not really a blockchain either, although close enough... I'm talking about Holochain ! That will certainly be the subject of a future article !

And what about the music in all this?

It's true that with my studies, I confess that I've given up music a bit and that bothers me a lot... I don't play very much saxophone anymore. To tell the truth, my main opportunities to play are still with @ikemas... just like in the good old days ! We continue to play our famous Bossa-Jazz repertoire and we even go, from time to time, play in retirement homes ! If something like the #openmic contest reappears on Hive, we'd surely be interested in redoing some videos for the occasion :)
