The purple,blue colour of fruits and vegetables signifies their antioxidant properties and their ability to reduce the risks of cancer,stroke and heart disease.beetroot and eggplant are good examples.Red colour in fruits and vegetables reduces the risk of cancer and improves heart health (as observed in tomato, watermelon,radish and red grapes) orange/yellow coloured one's contain carotenoids that help in maintaining healthy eye's (e.g.carrot,lemon, pineapple).

The benefits obtainable from the consumption of fruits and vegetables are greater life span,improved mental health, better cardiovascular health, reduced risks of some Cancer's and wright management,among others.

Specially, fruits and vegetables contain sufficient potassium, which are needed to reduce the effect of bone loss and occurrence of kidney stones.
