History of sagres beer
Sagres is a beer brand from Portugal. It was created in 1940 as a prestigious beer, to represent the Central Society of Beers at the Portuguese World Exhibition, opened in May of that year.
Leads, together with competitor Super Bock, the beer market in Portugal. Together, the brands represent 89.5% of the Portuguese market.
In October 2008, Sagres surpassed Super Bock for the first time in 20 years, and has remained the leading beer brand in Portugal ever since.
Sagres beer is 100% natural, produced according to exclusive traditional methods from water, malt, unmalted cereals and a rigorous selection of hops.
It is at the Vialonga factory that the Sagres beer brands and their variants, with and without alcohol, are produced and bottled.
