My name is Philips Afolayan and I'm a creative writer, content creator, researcher, mental health educator and filmmaker. I love to write because I believe it's one of the best ways to express one's innermost feelings, thoughts and imaginations. I write on a variety of topics including love, relationships, mental health, nature, life etc. I also like composing songs and poems.
BACKGROUND
I'm a graduate of Health Education from the prestigious University of Ilorin, Nigeria. I have great passion for psychology and my empathetic nature makes me a good listener who likes to inspire and motivate people.
INTERESTS
I'm an aquarian and I think a little too deep about everything. I love to study people and find out reasons for their various behaviours. Perhaps this is the reason why I still believe in love despite so many heartbreaks, lol. I have a stubborn nature and can be quite naughty when with friends. However, I am a very focused, disciplined and determined person and I look forward to winning Nobel Prizes in both Literature and Psychology.
I love writing and impacting lives positively. However, I discovered that people watch movies than read books nowadays so I decided to also delve into filmmaking and it has been an awesome experience. Film production allows me to reach a wider audience while retaining the core message of my writings.
CAREER
I'm a writer and mental health educator. My interest in psychology is borne out of a curiosity in human behaviour and a passion to help people improve their mental health and live better lives.
In addition to this, I'm a practicing Filmmaker. After my National Youth Service in 2018, I enrolled for professional Filmmaking training in a foremost film academy, The City of Talents Academy, and graduated as the best student in my department recently. My areas of strength include Scriptwriting, Directing, Editing, Cinematography and Subtitling. I have also acted in some movies, courtesy of my mentor, Oreofe Williams, a versatile Nigerian filmmaker and youth leader.
