Wren and other birds on Saturday walk

I am so happy to show you again the little wren. But before that let me start from the beginning.

I went out half an hour or so before hubby and the dog joined me in the park.

The first birds to see were the sparrows.

Look how this guy is puffed, it was pretty cool in the morning.

There were many seagulls, making a lot of noise.

Some were flying, others were foraging on the ground.

The ginger cat seemed not hungry and left the biscuits. I saw a woman feeding the cat earlier. However, the crows and the seagull saw free food and did not wait any longer.

The seagull left the feast, but the crow stayed until all was over.

Hungry crow.

Another crow was perching on a railing near by.

And here we come to the jewel and showstopper of the post - the wren!

My hubby, who has eyes of a hawk, spotted it first. Truth to be told he has seen another birdie there, on the fir tree during the week - the goldcrest. I was very much wishing to see it, but alas. Nevertheles, the wren was great find for the day. Hopping among sparrows, hardly to be seen. But its specific call made us alerted and there it was.

Wren is tiny, very tiny, smaller than the fir cone.

In my language the bird is called small walnut, perhaps it is because of its size, round shape and colour.

It is not easy to get nice photo of a small hopping bird. Here we've beem mooned by the wren.

That's how it looks from behind.

This is one of the funniest photos.

I don't know if tomorrow we will be having same luck. Besides the forecast is for rain. On the other hand the long holiday season will is ahead and I plan to stay out longer and to find the goldcrest, which is even smaller than the wren.

Until the, wishing you wonderful weekend!
