Papilio cresphontes es una especie de mariposa que tienen una envergadura de alas de 10 a 16 cm de longitud. Es por eso que la consideran la cometa o papagayo de la naturaleza por excelencia. Solo tienes que verla con sus alas extendidas y entenderás.

El cuerpo y las alas son de color marrón oscuro con su toque de color negro con bandas amarillas. También tiene un ojo amarillo en cada cola de las alas. El abdomen tiene bandas de color amarillo junto con el ya mencionado color café. Es una preciosidad de especimen volador.

Pude observarla entre lirios marchitos. Aunque en territorios más extensos, principalmente encuentran en los bosques de hoja caduca.

He de imaginar que su trayecto ha sido largo, porque no le importó tomar un tiempo para descender y posicionarse entre las ramas de los lirios. Obteniendo a su favor ese preciado momento parar para descansar y absorber los beneficiosos rayos de sol mañanero. Reponiendo las energías para seguir volando hasta llegar a tu destino.
Quedando los lirios entristecidos por su partida, porque sus ramas ya no son su reposo, pero con la esperanza de volverla a ver algún día.
