Diy design of a lovely A line dress

Hello Hiveians

Today am showing us a simple design for this A line I made for a client yesterday.
She brought a 5yards of the net lace material and wasn't sure of what to make with it.
I suggested designing the dress into this A shape which she will be putting in a camisole as an undergarments.
She is really chubby and trying to draft pattern for a more complex style will take much of a time and in the mean time she needs it urgently to wear to a function.

A line dress are simple to construct and can be cut in 3differnt ways that I know.

  • A bias fold method for more fullness.
  • The dart method
  • The free hand method

I used the free hand method, drafted a basic bodice to the hip and made the added fullness to the base.

Next I stitched the front and back together

I used the fabric to cut a straight strip bias fold which I then ironed and used to turn the neckline.
The final step was ironing and weaving of the seams.

With that my clients dress is completed. Am going to get a very comfortable material to make a simple camisole for this.

Customer satisfaction is my priority. Its your fashion designer and stylist looking forward to a life and career in fashion.
