INTRODUCTION OF MYSELF

Many years ago, the heavens smiled on the earth and released two unique beings who were located in different orbits in the earth but were orchestrated by the Creator of all creation to meet, became one and accepted a kiss from each other which eventually became the me who is writing now. My name is Michael Seidougha Ofoyeju

Permit me to say a little about my parents. The name of my dad is Enoch Ofoyeju and that of mum is Felicia Ofoyeju. Dad was educated and also diligently carried out his timber business. And was an example of good parenting personified. About mum, her greatest sin was that she happened to be the eldest daughter and was therefore commanded by her supposed loving but illiterate mother to look after her siblings. And my mum who had so much hunger for education was prevented by her own mother from stepping the corridor of the four walls of school. And any day she sneak away, she was given the beating of her life. The good news however is, these great parents of mine gave me all the education they wished but never had.

I hailed from the land with the hen that lay the golden egg, the crude oil rich and most balkanized tribe of the Niger-Delter of the South-South geo-political region of Nigeria. The Ijaw ethnic nationality is divinely blessed with an unusual and rare natural resource called the black gold, that is, crude oil. Generally speaking, Nigeria is blessed with diverse natural resources yet the oil and gas production carried out in the Niger Delter help to constitute ninety percent of the annual budget of the country. Isn't that interesting? Like the historical Balkan states, we are the only tribe in Nigeria that you would find in six different states in Nigeria. Why? You may probably ask. It is because of a demon called oil politics.

Born over four decades ago, I have swum through the Atlantic ocean, sailed across the Mediterranean Sea and flew over and above the Mount Everest of life. When I was about seven years of age, in the eighties, when Michael Jackson's Thriller was red hot on the hip hop musical scene, I followed a group of guys to a motel to do some Wacko Jacko break dance. I got my parents very worried as I returned home very late at night. Everyone had gone to bed after a long and futile effort at waiting for me. I strolled in like an unguided palace prince who specializes in getting the king and the queen worried. As I earlier said, all had slept but mummy was never slept keeping vigil like a vigilante. Perhaps, in her terrified and worried state, she remembered the nine months she suffered to carry me in her womb. Like the biblical father of the prodigal son, she saw me afar off and never waited for me to get to her before she left all and ran to meet me. She asked several questions intermittently. But be rest assured that my darling mum disciplined me afterwards.

As a child, academically I was not brilliant. In a class of sixty pupils, I took a position of forty-nine and it never bothered me while my older brother cried all day for fifteenth position. In Primary four, as I usually say it, my brain opened up. I became not only brilliant but very intelligent and brilliant. I sailed the academic sea to become the head boy, went to College and graduated well. After college, I wrote to Mobile, an oil company that operates in Nigeria to sponsor my education in the United Kingdom. The result I got from them was a very simple and beautiful letter that was devoid of any intention of taking me any where abroad. At the end of the day, I graduated from a Nigerian University where I read Education cum English Language and Literature. I went further to obtain a degree in Law because of the interest I have in matters of Human Right, et cetera.

Area of interest abound as follows: leadership, human relations and teaching. Leadership is critical either to the rise or fall of any organization. Worthy of note however is that it takes one who followed well to most of the time if not all the time to lead well and vice versa as everything rises and falls on leadership. This year I have provided leadership in the area of volunteer service in community development activities. Secondly, understanding the question of healthy relationship in no small measure could make anyone sing the song of a next level at every junction of one's life. Teaching adolescents to discover, develope and deploy their potentials, helping them understand the sex debate, and live a purpose-driven life. I am passionate about helping others discover who they really are and then take a quantum leap to the mountain top where the world can celebrate them as men and women of ambassadorial influence and diplomatic immunity. In 2005, I participated in United Nations International Children's Education Fund Peer Education Training to educate teenagers/adolescents of the danger of casual sex especially with the use of the faith approach. I am an Associate Member of the Institute of Personality Development and Customer Relationship Management.

I make positive contribution to the success of any organization that recognizes and encourages individual contribution, dynamism, creativity and hardework. And also to explore and harness the power of effective, efficient and articulate communication skills with a visionary leadership ability to bring out useful and managerial solution that will move any organization forward.

In conclusion, I am committed to duty, learn very fast, easily adapt to new environment having good understanding of a creative and purpose driven leadership with inspirational, motivational and good communication skills. Thank you.
