Hundreds of eye patients come to Chittagong Pahartali Eye Hospital every day from dawn to noon. The hospital is known all over the country as an ideal institution for providing adequate services to the patients. The 'Bangladesh National Society for the Blind Chittagong' and 'Chittagong Eye Informatics and Training Complex' have already gained recognition outside the country in the field of eye care services.
Known to the general public as 'Pahartali Eye Hospital', this hospital has been built in the shady and dense environment of Chittagong metropolis. At one time this hospital started its journey on a small scale but now they are claiming international standard in terms of quality and meaning. The authorities think that the service mentality has brought them to this stage.
Now their goal is to further improve and expand medical services by adding more advanced technology to the hospital, said Managing Trustee Dr. Rabiul Hossain. He also said that there are plans to provide quality eye services and even to develop trained human resources for eye treatment and to build it as an excellent eye care center. Rosie Gollmann, president of Andrei Hilfi in West Germany, was also remembered for establishing the hospital.
