Este hombre acaba con todos, mata a todos, es el bravo de todos los bravos y ni un rasguño se lleva. En la vida nos encontramos con algunas situaciones, frases, escenas que nos hacen dar un giro a algunas emociones. Te quedas viendo fijamente algún episodio que cambia todo en un momento. Tengo varias situaciones para contar en un antes y un después del covid. Esta película fue parte de esos momentos de reflexión.

Esta película recibe el nombre The Grey (un día para sobrevivir) es un film estadounidense, llamada en España “Infierno blanco” y “El líder” en algunos países. Es una película de acción y aventura, estrenada en el 2012, dirigida por Joe Carnahan. Está basada en el cuento Ghost Walker (Caminante fantasma).
The Grey es protagonizada por Liam Neeson, Frank Grillo y Dermot Muroney. John Ottway (Liam Neeson) trabaja como francotirador para una compañía petrolera en Alaska, el mataba lobos que asechaban a los perforadores en su lugar de trabajo. En una de las escenas John mata a un lobo que perseguía a uno de los trabajadores. La esposa de John sufría una enfermedad de la cual iba a morir y el decide suicidarse para no verla sufrir ni morir, pero no lo hace.
Ese tipo de trabajo era muy peligroso porque siempre estaban siendo perseguidos por lobos. Los trabajadores tienen unos días libres y deciden ir en avión a la ciudad, cuando todos se encuentran dormidos, tienen un accidente, cayendo el avión en una montaña de Alaska, la mayoría de los pasajeros mueren. Los pocos que sobreviven debe enfrentarse a un clima extremadamente frío, el miedo se adueña de los sobrevivientes pero no solo porque pueden morir congelados, sino principalmente pueden ser devorados por la manada de lobos grises, pues estaban en el territorio de lobos hambrientos.
John por ser el francotirador y tener un poco más de experiencia en la defensa contra estos lobos, toma el liderazgo del grupo, pero el grupo era un poco indisciplinado porque cada uno tenía su personalidad, no lograban ponerse de acuerdo, el miedo se adueñaba de ellos, haciéndolos actuar de manera obstinada e imponente. No es fácil liderar un grupo de personas que no confían en el líder, pero tampoco es fácil seguir las directrices de un líder sino no hay confianza o afinidad con él.
Estos hombres empiezan a sentirse agobiados y atacados por su propio miedo, por sus necesidades fisiológicas, por su parte emocional y racional, no logran equilibrar todas esas esferas dentro de cada uno de ellos, es difícil sobrevivir con las carencias que tenían, nada de recursos, hambre, estaban heridos, un clima en contra de ellos y unas fieras como enemigos esperando que cayeran para devorárselos, por más que emprendieron un viaje para buscar ayuda era una situación muy ruda para lograr salir de ahí.
Los lobos al sentirse invadidos y amenazados, van detrás de los sobrevivientes para devorarlos. Hernández es el primero que muere atacado por los lobos, Ottway propone que todos se alejen del lugar donde ocurrió el accidente, porque es la zona de los lobos.
A los sobrevivientes les toca turnarse para vigilar, comienzan las rebeldías contra el liderazgo de Ottway. Flannery se queda más atrás del grupo y es asesinado por los lobos. Se acercan cada vez más los lobos a los sobrevivientes, les toca refugiarse en los árboles, prenden fuego para que las bestias se alejen, buscan realizar armas para defenderse, pero todo esto es inútil, no logran alejar a los lobos.
Ottway piensa que uno de los lobos que atacó pueda ser un lobo omega enviado por el lobo alfa para sondear la fortaleza del grupo de los sobrevivientes.

Esta historia bastante fuerte, va avanzando como uno a uno va cayendo, pero se aferran a vivir, porque tienen familias que los esperan, luchan lo más que puede, unos mueren en la lucha y otros porque sucumbieron. Nunca caminaron lejos del peligro todo lo contrario caminaron hacia la guarida de los lobos.
Esta película me lleva un poco a la reflexión lo importante que es un liderazgo, así como vemos en ese pequeño grupo de sobrevivientes, a pesar que tenían una misma meta que era sobrevivir, no lograban ponerse de acuerdo, las diferentes personalidades chocaban entre ellos. Me tocó verla en una situación donde me sirvió para colocarme en el lugar de esos actores. En ocasiones nos llega una frase, una escena que nos hace pensar un poco más allá. También nos ayuda a agradecer, de hacer esa pausa y ver todo lo bueno que nos rodea. En el momento solo pensaba en la fiebre que tenía y luego en lo que haría si viviera una situación de esa magnitud. Tenemos momentos en lo que lo único que nos queda es orar, entregarnos, dejarnos en el gran abandono de la paciencia y espera de ese gran milagro. Me quedo con el momento donde el protagonista decía a los que estaban muriendo que recordaran el mejor momento de su vida, a sus seres queridos, es de gran fortaleza escuchar esas palabras de aliento que se ha utilizado para aliviar esos últimos momentos de agonia.
Hay actores que vemos en diferentes películas con distintos personajes en cada una que a veces suelen caer mal u otros pareciera que fueran invencibles, les pasa de todo y siguen vivos, son escenas irreales.
He visto al protagonista actuar en otras películas que parece el invencible pero verlo en esta película con esa actuación y un personaje de esa manera, interpela interiormente, me sacudió, es ver la parte humana de ese actor, con el don del liderazgo, fortaleza interior, lleva a uno a meterse en ese personaje.
En todo los ambientes de nuestras vidas como la familia, el trabajo, los amigos, los vecinos, entre otros, vamos a formar equipo, nacimos para vivir en comunidad, pero no es fácil, cada día se hace más difícil la convivencia, siempre existirán los que quieren llevar las cosas con autoritarismos, otros con liderazgo, otros prefieren hacer todo lo que les digan y otros guardar silencio para no opinar.
Un líder es aquel que conoce su equipo o su grupo, saca lo mejor de cada uno de ellos, logra que haya armonía entre todos, sabe escuchar, tienen autoridad, pero recoge todo lo aprendido de cada uno de sus miembros para poder aplicarlo y lograr la unión. Hay que aplicar estas características en cualquier momento.
