Un viajero de campo, llegó a una parte donde había muchos árboles secos, ahí encontró a una ardilla que vivía en un pequeño y profundo hueco bajo tierra.
Ahí mismo en ese lugar, el explorador puso su tienda de acampar; al terminar, prendió una fogata y puso una olla con espagueti, ya cuando su alimento estaba cocido, empezó a comer; cuando la ardilla de tierra lo vio comiendo, decidió salir del hueco, a ver si encontraba un poco de alimento para su familia.
Cuando la ardilla de tierra llego a la tienda de acampar, se acercó lo más silencioso posible, para que aquel hombre no la escuchara, reviso la olla y se encontró con bastante espagueti, el explorador la vio y le echo en una bolsa de plástico el espagueti, al terminar se la dio a la ardilla y se metió en su hueco bajo tierra.
Cuando se estaba haciendo de noche, el explorador preparó su tienda de acampar, para acostarse a dormir e irse el otro día; mientras dormía, todo el bosque estaba prendido en fuego, debido a una falla que hubo en los cables de electricidad de la ciudad.
El explorador no se había dado cuenta de todo esto, entonces la ardilla de tierra rompió la tienda de acampar con sus pequeñas garras, al abrir un hueco y entrar donde estaba el hombre lo mordió para que despertara.
En ese momento aquel hombre se despierta todo asustado, viendo como todo el bosque estaba prendido en fuego, así que sin pensarlo dos veces, en forma de agradecimiento agarró a la ardilla de tierra con su familia y la metió dentro de su bolso.
Entonces salió corriendo lo más rápido posible para llegar a la ciudad, y cuando estuvieron a salvo, la ardilla de tierra y su familia se treparon en su hombro y le dieron un fuerte abrazo, después bajaron, y se fueron para otra parte del bosque que no estuviera incendiada, para así crear su nuevo hogar bajo tierra.
English version
A country traveler came to a place where there were many dry trees, and there he found a squirrel living in a small, deep hole under the ground.
Right there in that place, the explorer set up his camping tent; when he finished, he lit a fire and put a pot of spaghetti, and when his food was cooked, he began to eat; when the ground squirrel saw him eating, he decided to get out of the hole, to see if he could find some food for his family.
When the ground squirrel arrived at the camping tent, he approached as quietly as possible, so that the man would not hear him, he checked the pot and found a lot of spaghetti, the explorer saw it and threw the spaghetti in a plastic bag, when he finished he gave it to the squirrel and went into his hole underground.
When it was getting dark, the explorer prepared his camping tent, to go to sleep and leave the next day; while he was sleeping, the whole forest was on fire, due to a failure in the power lines of the city.
The explorer had not noticed all this, then the ground squirrel broke the camping tent with its little claws, opening a hole and entering where the man was, biting him to wake him up.
At that moment that man wakes up all scared, seeing how the whole forest was on fire, so without thinking twice, in a way of thanks he grabbed the ground squirrel with his family and put it inside his bag.
Then he ran off as fast as he could to get to the city, and when they were safe, the ground squirrel and his family climbed on his shoulder and gave him a big hug, then they climbed down, and left for another part of the forest that wasn't on fire, so they could create their new home underground.
