Ya he escrito con anterioridad sobre este gran espacio verde ubicado frente al Río de la Plata en la costanera sur de la ciudad de Buenos Aires. No obstante, una actualización siempre es posible cuando hay cosas nuevas que mostrar y de las cuales hablar.
Es un lugar plagado de vegetación silvestre y una gran variedad de especies animales que encontraron aquí refugio y tranquilidad para desarrollar su vida.
Parece increíble que este inmenso predio ahora lleno de vida sea el resultado de relleno de materiales y escombros provenientes de la gran cantidad de casas y edificios que se demolieron en la década de 1980 cuando se construyeron las autopistas que hoy cruzan la ciudad.
Originalmente se había ideado un ambicioso proyecto inmobiliario que, como muchas otras cosas, el deterioro económico hizo inviable. El enorme terreno, gracias al abandono, comenzó lentamente a poblarse de vegetación y especies animales nativas, las aves venían por sus propios medios, algunos reptiles y pequeños mamíferos arribaban en camalotes y troncos provenientes del desagüe de los grandes ríos Paraná y Uruguay.
En 1986 el gobierno de la ciudad creó la Reserva Ecológica con buen tino.
Se la puede recorrer caminando o en bicicleta y es un área de atracción para muchos deportistas que desarrollan entrenamiento físico. También para aquellos que desean esparcimiento y unos buenos mates junto al río mientras observan los barcos y los veleros.
Tampoco faltan los tours fotográficos, se puede observar gran cantidad de turistas y nativos desarrollando esa atractiva, aunque costosa actividad de cazar imágenes de plantas, flores y animales con sus potentes cámaras y teleobjetivos.
Hay varios circuitos para recorrer todo o parte del amplio predio, también hay baños y construcciones para la interpretación del contenido.
En nuestra última visita de este sábado pasado, aprovechando el buen clima, observamos con sorpresa y enorme alegría muchas mejoras que incluyen nuevas plataformas de observación y descanso, varios circuitos construidos en madera para adentrarse en la espesura del bosque y los pajonales o en las bellas lagunas plenas de vida silvestre.
Nuevos baños y sendas al costado del río donde gran cantidad de personas pueden detenerse y sentarse en cómodas mesas y bancos para disfrutar de un desayuno, almuerzo o merienda y la vista del imponente estuario.
No faltan equipos y vehículos para prevención y lucha contra incendios, algo que en el pasado ha provocado daños enormes en el lugar.
Hace muchos años que visito la reserva ecológica y nunca la he visto como ahora, realmente un gran trabajo del gobierno de la ciudad que hay que resaltar, al igual que cuando no hacen bien las cosas.
Un lugar agradable, muy cerca del exclusivo barrio de Puerto Madero, para beneplácito de los habitantes de la gran ciudad, siempre necesitados de espacios verdes y relajación luego de una semana de labor cotidiana en la jungla de cemento.

Ecological Reserve
I have previously written about this large green space located in front of the Río de la Plata on the southern waterfront of the city of Buenos Aires. However, an update is always possible when there are new things to show and talk about.
It is a place full of wild vegetation and a great variety of animal species that find refuge and tranquility here to develop their lives.
It seems incredible that this immense property, now full of life, is the result of filling with materials and debris from a large number of houses and buildings that were demolished in the 1980s when the highways that today cross the city were built.
Originally an ambitious real estate project had been conceived that, like many other things, the economic deterioration made unviable. The enormous land, thanks to abandonment, slowly began to be populated with native vegetation and animal species, the birds came by their means, and some reptiles and small mammals arrived in camalotes and logs from the drainage of the great Paraná and Uruguay rivers.
In 1986 the city government wisely created the Ecological Reserve.
You can explore it on foot or by bicycle and it is an area of attraction for many athletes who develop physical training. Also, for those who want recreation and some good mates near to the river while watching the boats and sailboats.
There is also no shortage of photographic tours, you can see many tourists and natives developing that attractive, although expensive activity of hunting images of plants, flowers, and animals with their powerful cameras and telephoto lenses.
There are several circuits to explore all or part of the large property, there are also bathrooms and buildings for the interpretation of the content.
On our last visit this past Saturday, taking advantage of the good weather, we observed with surprise and enormous joy many improvements that include new observation and rest platforms, several circuits built in wood to enter the thick of the forest and the grasslands or the beautiful lagoons full of wildlife.
New restrooms and paths along the river where large numbers of people can stop and sit at comfortable tables and benches to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or snack and the view of the imposing estuary.
There is no shortage of equipment and vehicles for fire prevention and fighting, something that has caused enormous damage to the site in the past.
I have been visiting the ecological reserve for many years and I have never seen it like now, it is a great job by the city government that must be highlighted, just like when they do not do things well.
It is a pleasant place, very close to the exclusive neighborhood of Puerto Madero, to the delight of the inhabitants of the big city, always in need of green spaces and relaxation after a week of daily work in the concrete jungle.
