Indonesian Traditional Musical Instruments
Indonesia is a country that is rich in the diversity of its musical instruments. This can not be separated from the cultural richness of the people. There are so many musical instruments that you can find and all of them have their own uniqueness. The development of increasingly sophisticated music, the existence of traditional musical instruments has never been lost and is still in great demand by many people. Sasando

Sasandu (rote language), or Kupang language often calls sasando is a stringed musical instrument that is played by picking with the fingers. Sasando is a traditional musical instrument from the rote culture. This tool has a simple shape, the main part is in the form of a long tube of bamboo, the middle part is circular from top to bottom given a support (senda-language rote) where the strings or strings that are stretched in bamboo tubes from above rest down. This buffer produces a different tone for each string, while the container that functions for the resonance of the sasando is in the form of woven lontar (haik). The shape of the sasando is generally similar to other stringed instruments, such as the guitar, violin, harp and valahia from Madagascar. Literally the name sasandu in the rote language means a musical instrument that vibrates or sounds.

Angklung

Angklung is a traditional musical instrument that all parts of the body made of bamboo. The origin of the word angklung comes from the words number (tone) and lung (broken/lost), then it is not strange when you hear the sound of a musical instrument alat the angklung sounded like it was broken. The distinctive sound character of angklung is "klung..klung.." The sound produced in such a way sourced from the movement between bamboo tubes arranged in a row vertical with a bamboo tube as a support. Sound source This musical instrument is located in the hole of a bamboo tube that has been sharpened obliquely part of his body.

Gamelan

Gamelan consists of a number of musical instruments. Generally such as drums, gongs, flutes, xylophone, fiddle, zither, and many more. Here are some of the musical instruments in the gamelan:
The drum or drum serves as a regulator of the rhythm and tempo that is played. How to play it by beating or hitting the surface of the drum covered with animal skin.
Then, there is a gong made of brass metal and hung. When played, the gong is held by five fingers and then hit with a short stick. This tool functions as a rhythm holder, to strengthen the drum in determining the shape of the gending.
Then the flute serves as a song filler. Usually made of bamboo which is given a hole as a tone determinant. The flute is divided into slendro and pelog flutes which are distinguished according to the location of the hole.
The xylophone consists of an arrangement of 18 wooden or bamboo slats placed on a resonator rack. These blades are arranged in a row from smallest to largest to produce varied notes. The xylophone function is for songwriters, embellishing the song with twists, and opening xylophone songs. This tool is hit with a percussion.
Furthermore, the fiddle is a stringed instrument that has three or two strings of metal (copper) strings. The fiddle is round in shape with a long handle. In Javanese gamelan, the rebab not only serves as a complement to accompany the sinden singing, but also to guide the direction of the sinden song.

Kolintang

Indonesia is known as a country rich in cultural diversity, including traditional musical instruments. One of the most popular musical instruments is the kolintang.
Kolintang Originating from North Sulawesi, kolintang is a musical instrument that emerged from the culture of the Minahasa community. Made of wood, kolintang is played by hitting it with a wooden stick wrapped in a cloth.
Its lined shape reminds us of a piano musical instrument. Interestingly, kolintang can play a series of seven different notes. So, when played, there will be low, middle and high notes through this instrument
