The shape of the hood and the teardrop-shaped LED headlights at the angled sections are both reminiscent of the original Z. The rectangular grille dimensions are similar to the current model with the addition of oval grille fins to offer an updated modern look. The shape continues to exude the impression of sportsmanship and elegance.

“The LED headlights have two semicircles reminiscent of the Japanese market—only the 240ZG in the 1970s,” explains Albaisa. "The ZG has a clear dome lens above the headlight bucket, which under the light emits two circular reflections above each headlight. We love that unique characteristic and find that it naturally fits the Z identity."

The link to the original Z is most striking when viewing the Z Proto from the side. The roofline runs from the nose to the rear square to create a distinctive first-generation Z profile whose rear edge is slightly lower than the height of the front fender, giving the Z a unique posture. The distinctive transition from the rear quarter glass to a low position on the rear tail adds to the effect.

The rear takes inspiration from the 300ZX (Z32) taillights, reinterpreted for the modern world. Set in a black rectangular section that runs across the back and wraps around the exterior, the LED taillights convey a sharp glow around the edges.

A light carbon fiber treatment on the side skirts, front lower lip and rear mosquito net ensures agile performance. 19-inch alloy wheels and dual exhaust complete the Z Proto's presence on the road.

Designed to fit the driver and passenger like a glove, the Z Proto's cabin seamlessly blends modern technology with Z's vintage touches.

The interior design team sought advice from professional motorsports legends for the Z Proto to have the ideal sports car cabin for both road and track. This can be seen on the Z instrumentation. All important information is on the 12.3-inch digital meter display and is set to help the driver catch it at a glance, such as the red line shifting point at the twelve o'clock position.

The new deep steering wheel offers the driver quick access control without losing its vintage aesthetic.

Yellow accents are found throughout the cabin, including the stitching on the instrument panel. The seats have special yellow accents and a layered gradient line in the center of the seat to create depth.

an enhanced twin-turbocharged V-6 engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. As a prototype, work is underway to synchronize power with the elegance and control that has defined the Z for the past 50 years.
