Descubre mi país con fotografías - Discover my country with pictures [ESP-ENG]

(The English version is below)

Me despido entonces...

¡Hasta la próxima!

*****English version*****

Greetings friends of the "Rincón fotográfico"! This is my entry to the "Discover my country with photographs" contest created by @monster-one.

I spent the whole week thinking about what photograph to take, but I couldn't come up with an idea that could identify my country without saying the name. I did several tests; I went to a square, to a couple of monuments and even went to the theater and the museum, but I don't know; I mean, in every country there are squares, monuments, theaters and museums; besides, the ones around here are not so iconic as to be recognized. That's why I discarded those ideas...

For a moment I thought I would have nothing to contribute to the contest, until my mother gave me a great idea. She told me "put a picture of the pabellon criollo, it's the traditional dish". I thought it was a good idea because I like to cook, it's one of the things I enjoy the most; so I bought the ingredients and got to work.

Yesterday I prepared everything. The meat and the caraotas (as we call the black beans in the dish in question) took too long to be ready, so I finished preparing everything very late at night. I couldn't take a picture with natural lighting, but I used a lamp that created a certain shadow effect around the picture. I liked the way it turned out, I hope you liked it too. By the way, I wasn't going to leave this dish without the characteristic arepas, here you eat arepas no matter what.

It is a dish that I don't eat every day, but I made it to show something typical of my country, something that almost everyone in my country has eaten. There are preparations in which additional ingredients are added, such as eggs or avocado, but I decided to do it like this; rice, shredded meat, beans and fried plantain slices.

Well, I hope you liked my post and that, at least, it made you want to prepare it too hehe. I'll say goodbye then...

See you next time!
