We were up and getting coffee in the cafe before 7am and as we headed back to our room the first person was out in the hot pool. It didn't take us long to get the boys ready and we all headed down for a nice soak.
Drastic difference from the evening when the pool was packed and it was rather loud. In the morning the slide wasn't going and the pools were nearly empty so it was nice and quiet and calm. We got a good hour soak in before we had to go get ready to keep driving.
The I15 is a really nice freeway that doesn't have the number of cities and towns along it like the I5 does. It makes the travel a lot faster. The bulk of the 15 runs in the basin between the Rockies and the Sierras so most of the trees end up higher elevation than the freeway.
It was about 1pm when we got to our friend's place in Pocatello. We had stopped to pickup food to grill for lunch first.
The boys ended up out front winging down the sidewalk on the scooter and tiny bike. We had a great time hanging with them and had awesome conversations. They are likely moving back up to the Spokane area this year so they will be a lot closer.
We got back on the road and had a couple hour drive to our Air BnB which took us into the Salt Lake basin and the metroplex that it is. The Wasatch still have snow on the mountains nut down at the base the temps are in the low 70s F. I ended up tucking in behind a couple cars that were straight hauling ass which made the last part of the drive go by quick.
As we were making our way to Sandy I caught sight of the moon just peeking over the range. It is just to the right of the "700 East" sign on the pole.
We got to our place for the next couple nights and quickly settled in. I made the rounds of the place then plopped down at the kitchen table to zone and try to relax.
There is a pool that we can use and I know the boys are anxious. I was done for the day. Piloting a wheeled rocket through space in such close proximity to others at high speeds takes oodles of attention and rapid logistical thinking.
The boys found their room and spent the evening fighting with their digital to get it connected to the wifi then they were absorbed.
The hour time difference plays with my internal clock a bit but I was happy to go to bed.
Today we are going to a climbing store, likely go to the Harvest Right headquarters, then this afternoon I plan to fly at point of the mountain since winds look better today than tomorrow.
