French Toast - Easy breakfast-for-one recipe.

Today I am going to share with you one of my all time favorites!
The French toast.
You may know it as something else, but French Toast is what I know it as since my childhood.

It is a simple, yet very satiating meal for one.
The trick to it lies in the slices of bread. Find your perfection by testing how thick you want each slice to be.

French Toast is a common breakfast meal, but does really well during brunches, too. It takes very minimal preparation, low margin of error and you don't need to be no John Oliver to put it together.

INGREDIENTS:

Unlike many of the fancy breakfast recipes, the French Toast is limited to just a handful. Sliced white bread, butter, egg and sugar.

If you aren't a fan of egg yolk, tough luck, it is a key component of the recipe. Good thing is, there aren't too many allergens to worry about. You can also get as fancy as you want with the ingredients.

For example, mom used to add brown sugar and cinnamon powder. Absolutely spazzy!

PROCESS:

  • Break an egg into a container. Add some sugar, according to how sweet you'd like your toast and beat it all up.
Personally, I use 2 eggs and and 2 teaspoons of white sugar.

  • After you beat the egg and the sugar up, start dipping your bread slices into the mixture one by one. Make sure you soak the mixture into the bread well.
Coat the bread slice until it is completely covered in egg.

  • Take out your frying pan and heat up the stove. Melt an ample amount of butter. You can add as much or as little butter as you like depending on your taste.

  • Once the butter is well heated up, start adding the egg-dowsed bread slices to the pan. I, personally, recommend keeping a medium flame. This prevents burning the egg before the bread cooks.

  • Flip the slices after approx. 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

VOILA!

I left my toasts for a little longer because I prefer them that way. However, golden brown is the perfect limit.

Since it is breakfast, I paired it with a cup of americano. A perfect start to my day!

Hope you enjoy this recipe, and let me know if you add it to your breakfast menu.
