This beautiful flowering tree in Indonesia is known as Ashoka. Ashoka tree height can reach 4 meters and the circumference of the base of the trunk can grow up to 40 centimeters. The stems of this dicotyledonous plant are dark in color which is sometimes accompanied by patches of lichen which are attached to the stems, branches and twigs. The branching system is simpodial and dirty white in color.
Asoka has the scientific name Ixora coccinea and got the nickname anti-sad flower. Besides being nicknamed the anti-sad flower, the Asoka flower is also called the Flame of the Wood or Forest Fire. This name is due to the bright color of the flowers.
