TESTING THE KING

Good morning believers of the most high God, Hope we all had a wonderful night rest? I just want to remind us about few things in the bible which we all know already but maybe we have neglect for awhile now.
Lets turn our Bibles to the book of
MATTHEW 4 : 1 - 11
Although we all know that Christ was perfection personified, testing Him reaffirmed that He cannot fall. It is quite revealing that He was tempted in areas that had to do with sensitive or important to human feelings and emotions. Because those three areas that were mentioned in the bible are areas that the mortal man will fall for without thinking twice, the devil is wise. Now lets look at the areas that the devil tempted or rather put our Lord Jesus to test.
The first temptation: this was directed at Jesus's appetite for food, just as the devil did to the first man, Adam. An ordinary human being will find it almost impossible if not totally impossible to live without food for forty days and forty nights. But the response of Christ's concerning food to Satan showed that His perfect and divine nature were above human hunger, it shows that his nature is that of the inmortal man, even though he came to this world in human form and suffered like every other human being. He still replaid that "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceed out of the mouth of God."
Second temptation: Here the Satan took our Lord Jesus to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple, he feels he can put our Lord Jesus to test and the master will fall for the test. But Christ used the Scripture, which is His word, to counter the devil. Saying "It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’"

Third temptation: The Satan didnt give up, so he took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor, and he tried to deceive the Lord into lowering Himself down before him for earthly kingship. But our Lord, who knows His position over all creation and the fact that He alone should be worship not Satan a vile creature, he still used the scripture to concer Satan by saying "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”
Glory be to the Lord for overcoming the devil's temptations and for being able to lead us out of temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Now Brethren, How do you always overcome temptation as a believer?
Jesus Christ used the scripture against Satan and he succeded, lets not forget the the Bible is our only weapon in fighting the Devil and he will flee from us.

We should always pray and ask our Lord Jesus Christ to always strengthen us whenever we are faced with temptations and trials.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
