Para el @beersaturday de esta semana os traigo la que probablemente es la cerveza más conocida de la cervecera zaragozana Cierzo. Se trata de "Citra", una cerveza monovarietal que coge el nombre del lúpulo que lleva. Es de las pocas cervezas que la marca continúa elaborando una y otra vez, convirtiéndose en lo que conocemos como su línea CORE. Es tal el cariño que le tienen que hasta han llegado a celebrar el Citra DAy, en el que sacaron dos nuevas versiones de esta cerveza, la Small Citra y la Citra al cuadrado. Hermanas pequeña y mayor, una Session IPA y una Doble IPA. Pero yo personalmente me quedo con la original.
El lúpulo Citra es uno de los nuevos lúpulos más utilizados y conocidos, aunque pronto va a ser ya un clásico. Reconocido por su potente sabor a cítricos, es uno de mis favoritos.

La cerveza es una explosión de aromas y sabores donde los cítricos, como era de suponer, predominan. También encontramos otros matices frutales a mango o piña. Amargor potente pero muy agradable al mismo tiempo.
Este último lote presenta menos espuma que los anteriores, esta se disipa rápidamente.
Como anécdota decir que esta cerveza fue medalla de plata en el Barcelona Beer Challenge de 2020.

For this week's @beersaturday I bring you what is probably the best-known beer from the Zaragoza brewery Cierzo. This is "Citra", a single-varietal beer that takes its name from the hops it contains. It is one of the few beers that the brand continues to brew over and over again, becoming what we know as its CORE line. The love they have for it is such that they have even celebrated Citra Day, in which they released two new versions of this beer, Small Citra and Citra squared. Little and big sisters, a Session IPA and a Double IPA. But I personally stick with the original.
The Citra hop is one of the most used and well-known new hops, although it will soon be a classic. Recognized for its powerful citrus flavor, it is one of my favorites.

The beer is an explosion of aromas and flavors where citrus fruits, as expected, predominate. We also find other fruity nuances of mango or pineapple. Powerful bitterness but very pleasant at the same time.
This last batch has less foam than the previous ones, it dissipates quickly.
As an anecdote, this beer won a silver medal in the 2020 Barcelona Beer Challenge.
