In the short film Popeye The Pizza Man, Popeye delivers a pizza to a fellow obviously in need of comfort, and tries to show him that maybe life is worth living.
Later, Popeye wonders about the value of his actions. He finds himself in these situations, and tries to help, but often it seems futile - people are going to do what they want to do anyway.
Popeye was trying to do something quite difficult, so in a sense if he has one success, that can justify all of his previous efforts.
If you are aiming for something big, perhaps you will find that one success is enough.
