Ferris Mansion, Rawlins - Wondrous Wyoming

While we were just driving around Rawlins, I spied this beautiful mansion. We took a closer look so I could grab some photos.

According to Wikipedia, this mansion was built by George Ferris, beginning in 1899. Unfortunately, George himself was killed in 1900, but the house was finished in 1903 and his widow lived there until her death in 1931.

In addition to being considered one of the most important Queen Anne style buildings in Wyoming, it's also on the list of haunted places of Wyoming. Apparently, there are at least three recognizable spirits living there, in addition to people hearing footsteps and whisperings.

Amazingly, this mansion is currently for sale for an amazing $895,000 - a real bargain when you consider it's nearly 8000 square feet with 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms on just under half an acre of land! (Check out the link for amazing photos of the interior!)
