On the other side

Sometimes in the mountains, I forget how fast the weather can change. That morning I woke up for the sunrise photoshoot and was discouraged with the thick clouds and light rain. I almost got back to sleep. Fortunately, it was an easy short walk to the Obersee lake, so I finally decided to give it a chance. The sunrise itself wasn't impressive. The sun was trying to make it through the clouds but never did. I had plenty of time and took a walk around the lake, expecting to have some fog at least. Half an hour later, when I was on the other side of the lake, the conditions changed drastically. The sky was clear without any evidence of the moody early morning weather. The light was quite dull. I gave up to make an interesting shot and was just enjoying the views and weather. Suddenly, the inverted cloud started to roll in. And it changed the light and scene dramatically! I got one of my favorite shots from our trip to Switzerland and learned a lesson: if it doesn't work right now, take a break and enjoy the views.
