Love getting close

Love getting close

If you follow my posts, you'll see that I like to capture photos up close and personal on things. There is something I find oddly fascinating about getting really close with a camera... for one thing you look kinda weird to other people walking by... But afterwards when you look at some the photos of that microscopic world, of the things that are sometimes beneath your feet and forgotten, it opens up worlds of inspiration.

Here are some photos I took recently of the small world and made it big. I would like to get a better lens to really dive into the microscopic, explore the microcosms of life. Perhaps I will one day, but for now these are relatively close photos of things.

In this first photo I really enjoyed the way the light of the street was playing off the hard edge of the marble bench.

Getting down close to the ground, the arrows in the distance directing traffic sat perfectly on the horizon line.

even this traffic stand, in hindsight I should try to get closer... But it had some fun texture.

this one was sort of like a discarded flower, trampled and forgotten. A byproduct of someone's lunch that they have also probably forgotten. Such a dismal life to be trash.

This shoe reminded me of a snake skin, texture wrapping around.

The discarded bottlecap, perhaps it was a Coca-Cola... Or Pepsi, or even just the water... Who drank this drink, who was the callous individual who discarded this with such a laissez-faire attitude... The world may never know.

Endless sand dunes stretching for miles, is an alien landscape, or is it dust.

Further across the barren wastelands, there is a shelter up ahead, perhaps a cantina with the band playing some songs and a starship waiting to furry you off planet

The world that's close up, the world that's far away from us, but yet just below our feet. Who knows what adventures await, what stories can be told when we look beyond.

I hope you enjoyed some of these pictures.
