Ancient Greek candy bars, made of sesame seeds and honey. I made them vegan and used agave syrup instead of honey.
Ingredients:
- 200 g of sesame seeds
- 60 g of agave syrup
- zest of half lemon
- a teaspoon of cinnamon
- a teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3 cloves
- a pinch of salt
Preparation:
- Heat up a pan over medium heat and toast sesame seeds until golden. Remove it off the stove and set aside.
- Heat up agave syrup with the spices. Remove from heat and take out the cloves.
- Slowly add sesame seeds and mix it until all the seeds are covered with syrup.
- Spread the mixture on a baking paper about 0.5 cm thick. Leave it to set in the freezer for one hour.
- Cut it into any shape you like. Keep it in an airtight container, between the layers of baking paper in a cold place.
