Campaigning for Itínera - Straight from the Horse's Mouth: Itínera Presenting Itínera

After three successful events in our weekly Conferences for a Better World, we are almost ready to move on from the natural building to the performing arts... Almost, but not quite! After all, Itínera Theater still hasn't had a chance to present itself, and all the amazing things they are involved in. And that's exactly what we would like to do this Sunday, at our usual time of 10:30 a.m. in Central Daylight zone, and 5:30 p.m. in the Central European Summertime zone. (So far all the time-zones are still synced, but one week later certain places will start twisting their clocks back.) Check out the event page. You can take a look at the event page here.

Green Construction, Permaculture, Theater, and the Community

Let us present Itínera to you! The whole story, complete with all the left-out details. How did this association come about? What are their plans? Why did they decide to come to Mazunte? What is it that they want to accomplish? And by golly, what on earth are they building there??? If you have followed my blog you may have an idea... But even then chances are that you have more questions than answers. I know, I certainly would!

So this will be your chance to address all these concerns and have the mystery lifted. We want to focus just as much on our involvement with the people of Mazunte as with the communities of the surrounding area. We want to talk about performing shows as well as about education. About creating a passively cooled space in the same way as recycling and reusing one of the most commonly occurring pollutants in the world (which would be car tires). Most certainly we will mention all the connections established and friendships made while interacting with locals and visitors alike. At the same time we want to offer an insight into the challenges we have encountered in building a reciprocal green roof and getting established in this truly lovely Mexican beach town.

Taking Multilingual to the Top

In our previous conferences the presenter was most comfortable in speaking either in English or in Spanish, which we translated in our combined efforts by typing live captions, so those who did not understand the presenter would have an idea of what they were talking about. This time, however, we can split up our spoken languages among us. In other words, two of us will be presenting their part of the talk in English, and two in Spanish, while another one of us will provide subtitles. This way our audience will This way we hope to make most of our audience feel included.

Questions are welcome, as always, and in that regard there will be even wider opportunities this time: To interact with us you will be able to use not only English and Spanish, but also French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Hungarian, and possibly even Russian. We'll make sure to translate your question for the sake of the rest of everyone.

Come One, Come All!

We have lots of things to talk about, but most of all we would like to offer a deep insight and give a thorough impression of our organization and projects. So don't miss your chance of getting to know Itínera Theater, up-close and life-like. I'm sure there will be more opportunities at some point in the future, but this Sunday we want to lay it all down for you. So if you have become curious about us, the building, the theater, or how we want to help the local community, don't wait around: join the Zoom meeting or you can take the long-cut via the facebook event page or take the long-cut over the facebook event page! It's going to be fun!!!

In case you want to prepare with further info, take a look at Itínera's website, and facebook profile. Also, feel free to browse my blog posts I wrote while working with this group, listed at the end of this post.
