The education system of Myanmar was already one of the region's poorest – ranking in the world survey last year 92 out of 93 countries. According to World Bank figures, that was one of the lowest rates in the world. Students in Myanmar this year could not expect much progress.

For almost half a century, students and teachers were on top of the opposition, and were prominent during the protests since leader Aung San Suu Kyi arrested and last decade's attempting democratic reforming.
Many teachers have stopped working as part of a civilian disobedience movement in Myanmar, like doctors and other government workers. The security forces occupied campus in Yangon, the largest city, and elsewhere when protests broke out after the coup Feb 2021.

The conditions and locations of other persons arrested by the junta remain unknown to their family members and their lawyers who say they have been unable to get even basic information. "There is still a lot of trouble finding out about ordinary people and youngsters shot and beat and detained for participating in peaceful protests,". "We do not know precisely, were they charged already? Have they been healthy or have they been injured? At this moment, to see them appears so far away." Families and legal defenders of the missing persons say that the numbers of arrested or killed persons throughout the country are only estimated as long as people remain unaccounted for.

List of missing persons and have asked the authorities whether they are being detained in prison, but often receive no reply.
Under the military regime of Burma, members of the public were increasingly arrest alive by night and returned dead body the following morning to their families.
