Grapthar's Daily Hive Music Feature: Four Tet - 'Parallel 4'

of English musician Kieran Hebden; born in Putney, England, Hebden got into music early on, and by high school had formed a post-rock band with classmates called Fridge. When he was just 15, the band had signed a record deal, and released a number of albums. Hebden wound up attending college, and earning a degree in math and computer studies. In the late '90s, he decided to release solo music, outside of the band, and became a big part of the world of 'IDM' (intelligent dance music), which took electronic music into new, experimental, more complex territory, and has since became one of the big names of the genre. He has since released 11 full length albums under the name 'Four Tet', along with a few others under his actual name. Today's song is from his 2020 album Parallel; technically the album was released under the name '00110100 01010100', an alias he uses. A number of the songs had also previously been listed on streaming platforms under a VERY strange alias, "⣎⡇ꉺლ༽இ•̛)ྀ◞ ༎ຶ ༽ৣৢ؞ৢ؞ؖ ꉺლ". If you like the tune, I definitely recommend the album and his discography more generally, I've become a big fan over the years.
