It's Friday, Friday!

Post by @holovision

It's the first friday since @memehive became an official tribe for memes. I had to write this post. It's in Da Rules.

There has been a lot of derision of Rebecca Black's "Friday" music video. Not during the first month it was on the internet. A little lesson there that just because your meme hasn't gone viral in the first week doesn't mean it never will. Black didn't intend to be part of something that would be memed but it was the subject of many memes for the rest of 2011...and 2012...and 2013...

Knowyourmeme.com has an entry covering the "Friday" meme. For further information and some rather interesting details about the production company and its founder behind the music video watch the video below from the Sarah Z YouTube channel.

While reading the Knowyourmeme.com entry I came across an amusing religious parody of the "Friday" music video. It is weird how the YouTube video title for the parody has "Rebecca Black" and "Friday (Official)" front-loaded. What makes it an "Official Parody Video"? It can't be a deceptive reason because of the “Thou shalt not bear false witness” thing, right?

I'd try to find out more about the parody video but the comments are turned off for the video and I got distracted watching the video of the Mormon mommy singing "I am a Child of God" in Klingon.
